Are you sure that's how it works? Are you sure there isn't any calibration required for the new windshield? It's not a matter of ungluing the sensors from the old windshield and sticking them on the new one. It's a fine calibration process. Here's how one website put it:
You may be wondering...
It did not affect our rate on the Mazda, but I can’t imagine that multiple replacements over time wouldn’t have an impact. I don’t believe there’s any hard-and-fast rule or law that governs windshields separately from other claims. I don’t carry windshield coverage on my JK. The $200 replacement...
I would think carefully before ordering ACC/FCW on a JL/JT. That box behind the windshield makes it many times more expensive to replace the windshield, apparently due to calibration of the electronics. My wife's CX-5 has that stuff and it can be great, but a new windshield cost our insurance...
If you get mud on the interior and you can’t clean it completely, the tan cloth will show stains more. Think of it like an oil stain on a shirt.
Now if we’re talking leather, I agree with you.
Just ordered a JTR with the plastic fantastic bumper. Sigh. I'll probably just wait for the AEV bumper at this point. No point spending $1,100 just to get the factory bumper I SHOULD have been able to order for $695. At least the AEV will look unique. And yes, it will cost more than $1,100...
Bingo. I have a JK U Rubicon, and I use the sway bar disconnect way more than I use the lockers. Articulation is your best friend off road, especially out here in the West. You don't encounter a ton of mud or slippery conditions. The game is more about keeping all four tires on the ground...
How well does this kind of product protect paint from brush and trail rash? Obviously, if you drive through a thicket you'll get scratched. I'm talking more about minor trail rash from a few plants here and there overhanging the trail. We deal with a lot of that our here.
I'm a terrible overlander. Despite having taken my Jeeps thousands of miles off-road, I still can't accept trail rash as a fact of life. On a few occasions over the years, I've even slapped painter's tape on one side so I could push through a particularly brushy obstacle. I know. I know...
I'm currently deciding between Sting Gray, Billet, and Punk'n. Sting Gray is a terrific color, but are you guys worried about scratches and pinstriping? My experience is that metallic colors tend to show that kind of stuff less, but man does this color look good.
I'm sorry this happened to you and I'm sure you're terribly disappointed. Since your Gladiator is brand new, I might suggest that you take a step back and focus on the long-term reliability and health of your rig. My biggest concern would be that this lift was clearly not installed properly...
It's complete BS. Jeep suddenly forgot how to paint a vehicle? Heaven only knows what the hold-up is. There are apparently some management problems with Gladiator production, and I would hope some heads would roll internally. But whatever it is, it ain't paint nozzles.
