Did the new actuator fix it?
What did they say it was for yours? On mine, they replaced the steering damper and it seems to have solved the issue. Imjeli above says they are replacing the TC actuator and the OP said replacing the side axle to eliminate play finally solved it. Same problem...
I have a BMW 335d with full ABCs intact and the only time I ever smelled anything was when my EGR was leaking
Other than that incident, zero smell whatsoever, even with the car backed into the garage, engine idling away.
Thoughts on how different the Off-Road+ 4HI calibration will be on the Mojave vs the Rubicon? Any chance there's no difference at all? ;)
If so, the forthcoming SW update (or a Tazer right now) to lock the rear diff in 4HI would be all you need to get similar electronic traction control...
Can we start a list of chassis grounding points? I found a couple in the engine bay next to the battery, a couple on the frame down behind the front passenger wheel. I need some in the back at the bed and on the frame below the bed. Any one have some good existing locations that don't require...
Awesome schematic and great timing! I've been planning and scheming on my own for the past few weeks and completed the build this past weekend. See the schematic below:
Was looking real hard at the RedArc BCDC, but found the new Renogy DCC50S, which has DC-DC + MPPT built in, for much cheaper...
Ah, I ordered the cross bars, but after taking look at the whole set up at their shop San Marcos I’m thinking of just mounting directly.
The two rails beneath the iKamper are 1” in height/depth. I believe the three structural rails stamped into the RLD roof protrude slightly more than 1” from...
I'm getting the RLD canopy. I was saying I got the full-size Skycamp 4X as it it's going to be higher than the cabin roofline anyway. If I had a half-height bed rack, like the JCR rack, I would've considered the Skycamp Mini or the Skycamp 2X to keep everything low and flush with the cabin roofline.
Got the Skycamp 2.0 4X. Wanted the larger size. It’s going on top of the RLD and will have to deal with wind resistance anyway, so might as well go big! I would consider the mini if I had one of those half-height bed racks to hide the RTT from the wind.
Only downside is I won’t be able to...
Took it in and was able to reproduce the issue with one of the techs.
Foreman took the case over and was not able to reproduce it himself. He did find SB 19-002-19 in FCA STAR platform (attached below) and replaced the steering dampener.
SB talks about a “steering wheel shimmy,” which makes...
Good observation, and I'm sure that's the case. I'm not too bothered by it TBH.
I would also hazard a guess and Gen2 side doors are probably identical to Gen1, which is why it's still so tall. At least the side profile matches up now!
Thanks for this. I am actually looking for the how far those rails protrude from the main surface of the canopy itself, not relative to the hardtop on the cabin. No rush, just if you get the chance!
Was told the same thing March. I believe it will be somewhere in the US in March, off the containers.
@salvino, can you do me a favor and measure how far the three "rails" on top of the RLD stick up above the surface? Additionally, are there three rails completely flat and on the same plane...
