We do want to be sure EVERY customer is satisfied though, so if any customers with v1 canopies are unsatisfied we are offering a completely free replacement to a v2 canopy.
THIS is what customer service is about! Photos look great—bravo for the improvements. I think mine was in the Jan shipment—sounds like March now but I can wait if I must. Just need it before April kicks off.

I have to say I am happy to hear about the things from RLD Design! I am cautiously optimistic. I am wondering what design elements changed exactly. I see the canopy meets the lines of the cab a lot better. What about the fit on the bed? My own canopy was too far back on the bed which resulted in gaps between the canopy back door and the tailgate, too large a gap from the canopy and the cab, and caused the canopy to protrude over the edge of the bed corners. I'm going to contact Tom at RLD USA and see if I can get some specifics.

i think the RLD matches the vertical angle of the cab better. not necessarily the overall look. don't worry i've not flipped or flopped yet. =) you see the 2 new alu-cab photos i posted on the tops forum @smlobx?
I'm sure once you see the color matched Gen2 unit you will flip! Also getting the rack...

I think Alu-Cab did a much better job with the side and rear hatch hinges. With RLD's
separate hinges and the resulting gap when open, it will really funnel rain into the bed.

I would like to give a shout out to Joost at Rhino Adventure Gear (https://www.rhinoadventuregear.com/) and RLD designs for coming through on my Canopy. They are exchanging my Version 1 for a Version 2. Estimated delivery in April. In this day and age its hard to find companies that are willing to stand behind their products and services. Joost at Rhino was instrumental in making the exchange a reality. I will post pictures when it finally arrives. Both Rhino and RLD have earned my business and more importantly my respect.

I guess I'll see how much of a real world issue that is -

which ikamper did you order? I just ordered the new mini...
Got the Skycamp 2.0 4X. Wanted the larger size. It’s going on top of the RLD and will have to deal with wind resistance anyway, so might as well go big! I would consider the mini if I had one of those half-height bed racks to hide the RTT from the wind.

Only downside is I won’t be able to remove the rear portion of the hard shell :(

I'm getting the RLD canopy. I was saying I got the full-size Skycamp 4X as it it's going to be higher than the cabin roofline anyway. If I had a half-height bed rack, like the JCR rack, I would've considered the Skycamp Mini or the Skycamp 2X to keep everything low and flush with the cabin roofline.
