Oh yeah, no way I'd ever run a D44 on 42's rofl. That would be a funny experiment though. I wouldn't even run them on 60's w/ the torque. Or at bare minimum, I'd have a 70 out back. We still were blowing up stuff in a 70 on occasion with my JK.
Yep... 3.0's kinda suck on the street on a rough road but otherwise for the price I felt they were worth it for what I do in Moab/other trails frequently. Just gets SO expensive after that.
You're better off going C/O route with an external bypass ($$$) than the 3.0 IPB and otherwise, sticking to the 2.5's. If you don't want to go that route, not sure there's another option if you're truly smashing it through the desert constantly. I didn't want to spend the money, have more custom...
No; it requires money but a 44 these days can handle a 40 if you’re a good driver.
But IMO, there’s not been a single trail I’ve done in my entire life that’s “needed” 40’s. Maybe some obstacles but I’ve always gotten through without. I know those trails probably exist but honestly just haven’t...
It was explained to me that the Fox 3.0’s just can’t be made soft enough — there’s always a big trade off in terms of ride quality on road for an internal bypass shock of that diameter to take the significantly larger hits the 3.0 can take over the 2.5. Or at least — that’s how I interpreted...
They’re stiff and harsh on road but a dream off road. Working as designed. If you spend a lot of time off road and like to go fast through stuff there’s nothing better OTS.
Meant coil spacer kit, not wheel spacer kit. There's lots of opinions on wheel spacers and while I'm generally fine with them, there's caveats to it and I don't want to beat that dead horse.
That said, I was under a grand to put 37's on a Rubicon excluding the actual cost of the tires I suppose...
Yep, price protected too which is why it was $13k under. It started out at like $11k under I believe.
Using the volume dealers are amazing if you don't have a trade.
Mine hit SLC after 3 1/2 weeks from the time it "shipped" - which doesn't mean it actually left on a train.
"Shipped" just means it left the factory. It goes to a yard where it waits for a train. It can take at least a week for it to get onto a train. In case of SLC, I don't recall if it...
Just to clarify -- and I'm not sure if you were saying this or not, but you can fit 37's with very little money. Just a spacer kit on Rubicon -- few hundred $$$. My buddy just bought (few days ago) a fully loaded out EcoDiesel Rubicon '22 with 1k miles for $57k private party. It had a spacer and...
I think that's slowed down now. When 392's started showing up here folks wanted well above $150k. I think a few sold at BJ for near that actually, too. I was patient and got mine for $13k under MSRP.
It just depends on how you use the vehicle. If you truly aren’t going to rock crawl with it, but want a larger look without costing you much long term — 315’s are a pretty decent sweet spot. Gladiator looks weird without a lift. If all did was camping/daily I’d probably just swap Mojave take...
