  1. Water in Transmission from 4WD'ing, is this covered under manufacturer Car Warranty?

I respect the manufacturer's position, and they shouldn't be charged with paying for a component that failed due to use outside the intended or stated scope. However, when the book says "30 inches max water depth" that leaves a bit of leeway. Nobody can accurately measure the exact depth of...
  2. Water in Transmission from 4WD'ing, is this covered under manufacturer Car Warranty?

I'm of the opinion the OP should have his transmission fixed under warranty. The primary advantage of these vehicles is their superior off-road performance. Jeep's marketing is based exactly upon that, not ride quality, interior opulence, handling, or acceleration. It is not unreasonable to ford...
  3. How To: Opt Out of Jeep Data Harvesting and sharing.

That report won't contain everything. Keep in mind there is a massive CIA data center in Utah which stores a copy of every voice conversation you have over the phone, every text message you send, and every email you send. These are all time / date / IP / phone number / email address stamped...
  4. How To: Opt Out of Jeep Data Harvesting and sharing.

This is a possibility. We also have a 2018 F-150 that did not come with "Ford Pass" (which is the 4G modem) but does have Sync 3 and the 8" screen. In my driveway, it offers to connect to my WiFi or my neighbor's WiFi. Its possible it could transmit data if connected to WiFi. Ostensibly, the...
  5. How To: Opt Out of Jeep Data Harvesting and sharing.

He who trades liberty for security will have neither. I consider voluntarily allowing someone to track how you operate a vehicle in exchange for potentially lower insurance rates as trading liberty for security. Sorry Shadow, nothing personal, I don’t think you are a fool but I would never...
  6. How To: Opt Out of Jeep Data Harvesting and sharing.

I’m 100% with the OP. I paid for my vehicle; why should the manufacturer get to mine my data and sell it for profit? Worse, the government has proven it buys this type of data. We don’t have the code to see what’s possible and not possible remotely, but I’m willing to bet a connected vehicle can...
  7. Jeep is Cutting Prices and Adding Content!

I don't share your optimism. The reason the values plummeted is because of the price cut on new ones and 15%+ off to try to get people to buy one. Its worth noting the used value of the Wrangler is proportionally better than the Gladiator. People can talk Covid, supply chain, crazy high used...
  8. Jeep is Cutting Prices and Adding Content!

I'm very disappointed by the resale value of my Gladiator. Jeep Wranglers and Gladiators had amongst the best resale at the time I bought mine, and that was one factor in my purchase. Now, my Gladiator is amongst the worst thanks to Jeep taking 15% off new ones, and more in some cases. Not...
  9. Do I need a front end alignment after installing 1.5" puck lift on front?

Good info. I am going to order those Mopar LCA's since they are quite inexpensive. I'll be doing this at home on the ground. I will lift the front of the Jeep by the frame using my tractor and forks; then a couple of floor jacks to carefully lower the axle out once things are disconnected.
  10. Do I need a front end alignment after installing 1.5" puck lift on front?

@Charles 236 did you follow the Teraflex instructions on the install and disconnect the axle and lower it all down, or could I just do one side at a time with a spring compressor and disconnect the sway bar? Good to know the alignment and steering seemed good.
  11. Do I need a front end alignment after installing 1.5" puck lift on front?

My Jeep wanders...it has since the day I drove it off the showroom floor...but there is no looseness in the steering.
  12. Do I need a front end alignment after installing 1.5" puck lift on front?

Thanks - very straightforward, adjusting the length of the drag link.
  13. Do I need a front end alignment after installing 1.5" puck lift on front?

Thanks. What's the method to straighten the steering wheel?
  14. Falken Wildpeak A/T4W | NOW Available at DTC

I have about 8,000 miles on a set of 295/70/18 AT3W's on my Gladiator Overland. The tires look great and don't seem noisy, but that's about all I have to say about them that's positive. These are LR-E tires and I have learned my lesson about putting LR-E tires on these relatively lightweight...
  15. Do I need a front end alignment after installing 1.5" puck lift on front?

I have a Teraflex 1.5" puck lift to level the front of my Gladiator. Do I need a front end alignment performed after this? Seems like only castor might be affected, and not sure an alignment would do anything to fix it. Thoughts?
  16. Gladiator is crap for towing

I think a lot of the opinion on here as to whether or not the Gladiator is a "good tow vehicle" comes down to what has the person compared it against? Below are a couple of shots of my Gladiator - a 2022 Overland automatic with the stock 3.73 axle ratio. Suspension is stock, I'm running 34.5"...
  17. Gladiator sales down 22% in 4Q, 29% overall in 2023

Your chart from the 90's shows rates as high as 11%. But 11% interest on a much smaller purchase price is far more manageable then on the massively inflated prices we get today.
  18. Farewell Jeep and CJDR

@ShadowsPapa those close up pics of your hinges are great photos! I have a 2022 Overland, according to some on here it is junk. I've only got 7500 miles on it now. Zero problems so far in close to a year of ownership (mine was a leftover). Mine also has the inverter delete because of 'supply...
  19. Jeep’s technology compared to Toyota is stellar

Foe some reason, there is this notion that Toyotas are somehow better than other vehicles. I completely disagree. Sure, there are some well made Toyota vehicles. I love the 100 series Land Cruiser, and even a cheap Corolla is indeed economical and usually very reliable. But so are many cars...
  20. Not impressed with Gladiator performance in snow

^^Also, turning off traction control doesn't fully inhibit stability control, which is what is preventing the rear end from sliding out.
