It was a joint GM/VM design for European Cadillac ( https://www.autonews.com/article/20131028/OEM10/131029887/fiat-buys-remainder-of-diesel-maker-vm-motori-from-gm ). FCA had it lying around and instead of using the Cummins 4 cylinder, available now as a crate motor for Jeeps, FCA put the 3.0L...
FCA improved the top end, intake and it now has a larger turbo but uses the same block. I’m sure it will be an improvement but would need to consider the ROI, especially if they plan to charge $5k for the engine option.
We traded our 2015 Ecodiesel GC for our JT. After getting the emissions fix, received a check from FCA, and happily traded for an massive performance upgrade in the Gladiator.
What the article lays out is very close to our experience too. Not saying turbo lag wasn’t always an issue, it was, but...
I’m going to run the winch wireless controller/hand held controller plug-in into the cab for a cleaner install. As for the winch relay, it is isolated and secured with tie wraps between the battery and fender. No possibilities of arc points either.
Having already done multiple waters crossings...
I wonder if this is a young girl Colorado thing. Similar situation happened to my TJ. Young woman, driving too fast while texting, took out our mint condition Jeep.
Good news for you is you know where her parents live. Since she's 17 and driving her parents car means they are liable...
It's pretty simple.
What you'll need. BTW, for the JCR winch plate haters, there are two bends in the mount plate that prevent the plate between the Jeep's frame rails that prevent it from bending under load. If not wanting to go the JCR route you can save money by using the Rugged Ridge mount...
When off-road this is a truism for any issue, i.e. stuck in the mud, off in a bad spot, mechanical failure...the ESS battery is related to only a bad battery though.
For whatever reason the battery manufacturer that FCA OEM’d from sold a batch of crap batteries and this one (1) Flipturn had...
Here ya go: https://www.jlwranglerforums.com/forum/threads/3-6l-ess-aux-battery-bypass.17293/
Go on over to the JL forum when ya get stumped. The JL has a 1.5 year head start on common issues.
I only paid $289 for my Badland 12k; swapped out the steel rope with Nylon; added Factor55 closed system, including a winch plate, still under $650. I also moved the electronics under the hood and with its wireless remote it makes for a super clean, low profile, installation.
I’m surprised that they closed that $22k. I looked at it when it went live on BAT. The seller tried on eBay and the deal was sent back both times. Looked like a new truck with 735 miles though.
Honestly, in 20+ years, no one knows what JT’s will be worth. Imagine buying an original Shelby...
Note that sales means delivered to customer. When Jeep gets components supply shortages fixed, obviously this hurts both JL and JT delivery, Jeep could eclipse Chevy for the #2 spot on this list. Just like Ram...
Not sure. We had our Gladiator out this weekend for a trip to Ouray, Co.
Not sure about it. Comparing my 2-door JLR to the JTR, they both share the same level of road noise abatement, and both have Sunrider tops installed.
