You might do a little shopping around on the forum for the right Jeep sales guy vs. making a deal on a dealer’s lot. You can order custom and pay 8% below invoice if you don’t mind traveling outside your zip code. Better to get a Rubicon at a Max Tow price.
It is normal, unfortunately, but a new over the air SW update happened to me on my way to work today. Hopefully I get my "favorites" back afterward.
Note: When the screen goes black it is usually just a reboot. Maybe the new SW will settle things down...
Couple of things to consider:
1. New uConnect 5 will be available
2. Rubicon PHEV on its way
3. 392 possibly
Seems being patient will give you more options while you enjoy what you have now
I’m in Colorado Springs, higher altitude than Denver, and 4.10 works just fine. I hit 7-8th gear on I - 25, towed cross country, and have traversed all high altitude Ouray passes without hesitation. Note, the “Off-road +” button is there for a reason and I’d argue that folks having transmission...
Mopar 2” lift, most trails done with stock wheels until “Top of the World” and “Poison Spider”, had my 37s by then. No regear needed and it’s a daily driver.
No regear, Tazer mini, runs like a scalded dog at 6k feet above sea level. 18 MPG mixed driving. Wheeling is great. See below...many more trails to go!
You can run 35s on stock wheels without a lift or spacers so just swap the tires. If you upgrade to 37s you’ll need a 2” lift and can still use your stock wheels.
The leveling kit will remove the rake and help with clearance on sharp turns. You’ll lose the rake but gain a better turning radius.
You can always try bigger tires. If they rub a little, and you don’t mind that, then you can save $. If it does then you can upgrade to a leveling kit and maybe...
The best way to remove the rake, and give you proper tire clearance for off-road, is to have both. You can just do a leveling kit to remove the rake and use larger tires on stock wheels, just know you’ll feel a little rub here and there if you do take it off the pavement in some technical stuff.
