I wanted machined, but the stickout from the models I’ve been looking at is just too much. These are the ones. Plus, they’re hub-centric. AEV makes well engineered stuff, that’s for sure. Told my wife I’d wait until my tires are worn out to get a new set, but I’m super tempted...
Thanks for the reply- I went with the black 59”. You’re right; 54” would’ve fit by a couple inches, but it would be pretty narrow looking. Also makes it harder to install an awning. Got a third crossbar with gutter mounts for the hard top that’ll actually line up pretty nicely, but waiting on...
Same as above, and additionally, for my dogs, it’s necessary. I’m not having them inhale or get any fiberglass in their mouth/paws. Well also be camping in it, so that too. It’s worth it in any case, unless you plan on applying some insulation to the fiberglass, or your cap will only be housing...
Been doing a lot of comparison and I’m going with Rhino Rack for sure. Anyone have these on their JT? The kits recommend 59” crossbars, but the jeep is closer to 54”, which they also offer.
Got mine in- I’d like to hear what crossbars you guys have experience with and recommend- something I can mount a 270 degree awning to. I didn’t want to just go with what ARE offered before I did some more research
I hear you man, no doubt people are happy with their products. But personally, seeing the quality inconsistency over many years, and the fact that I can afford to support companies that don’t export their labor, I choose to go the made in USA route.
But honestly, I don’t judge someone at all if...
I ended up getting the Bedrug- but both are advertised as being able to be sprayed off, and breathable enough to dry out. Regardless, more breathable than a stall mat. I’m not worried about rust, but I also have bedliner, and I have a strict policy on not drilling holes into my jeeps lol. I’m...
It’s why I don’t but smittybilt or rugged ridge. Some of their bumpers aren’t even that bad structurally, but the finish is complete crap across the board. Easy way to save money
We’ve been driving fleet vehicles on base for a few decades now. Jeeps wouldn’t make sense whatsoever tbh. Humvees and MRAPs for armored stuff, and the cool guys drive RZRs and dirt bikes. I think my squadron has one LMTV that we train with sometimes
3.8 owners are missing more than an updated interior. If you’re worried about a model refresh, don’t. There’s always some sort of update just a couple years away.
I’m just hoping they’ll be out for the JT before I’m in the market for new tires. I’d love to have them in silver on my Gobi. Great looking wheel
I ended up getting the KC 6 light kit- connected to aux, but not the bed lights/reverse. I have an ARE cap coming with leds, which will be plenty of light... but still, this was a super slick mod. I’ll probably return to this thread several times the next couple years until I finally cave in and...
I know some earlier owners had issues with the same USB, but using a real iPhone cable seemed to fix people’s issue. Interesting that the problem seems to have gotten worse not better
KC Cyclone rock lights. Super clean install, always love going with KC. ARE bed cover comes in Feb and an awning will follow shortly thereafter; Other than 35s when the stocks wear out that’ll be about it on the build- just in time for some great camping weather
