Mine reads the same as the TPMS. It doesn't clamp to the stem, but it is very easy to get a reading without leaking air. It also has holds the reading until you push the button on the side. You can also use the button to let some air out if you over fill.

Oh, I have a load rating of E on my Mojave so it is 121/118S on BFG KO2. My wife's Wrangler has C rated. It is 113/110T. FYI....my E rated tires are more stable on the highway than her's.
You probably already had a crack in the bottom section of the windshield, in the black part under the wiper blades. I heard what I thought was a chip/crack and couldn't find it. When I used the defroster and it heated the cold glass...... There it was.
