It's not like the 3.6 Pentastar is held up as a shining example of reliability... they have their issues too... so I'm sort of in the same mindset. I'll probably keep mine until the powertrain warranty is just about up (several more years at my current rate of driving) and I'll decide then if I...
Not bashing... just trying to be realistic. My cost comments are mainly in response to all the EcoDiesel fanatics who feel the need to chime in on every thread that mentions MPG to brag about theirs - without mentioning how much more expensive diesel fuel is - or any of the other expenses that a...
Hmmm... why do you suppose that is? I realize you bought back in October, but things have changed now. That "advantage" is null and void now that pretty much all Jeep dealers are overflowing with Gladiators and you can get big rebates on Pentastars too (like $7k-$10k below sticker depending on...
I agree 100%!
My last vehicle was a C6 Corvette Grand Sport and I have zero complaints about the power of the 3.6 in my Gladiator. It's an off-road focused mid-size pickup, not a sports car. It's plenty fast enough - and not even just "for what it is"... it's plenty fast enough period! I...
Well, yeah, but 2 gallons is two gallons. It’s not like you can tuck it behind the rear seat back like I can my little ViAir. I just need to air my tires up occasionally, not build a deck. ?
I looked into the cordless pumps a couple of years ago and unless things have changed, they all have dinky pumps that don't move a lot of air. They're just not enough to to inflate a big 33-37" tire without being seriously over-worked - unless you're just topping one tire off a couple of pounds...
That's no excuse. In 2024, LED headlights should be standard in ALL vehicles. Why should anyone pay $40k-$50k+ for a new JL/JT and then have to turn around and replace the headlights because they come with headlights from the 1980's?
1) Fix the #1 most common problem/complaint people have with the JL/JT: ESS-related battery issues!
I get that ESS is necessary now due to govt. regulations, so getting rid of it is not an option, but at least RELOCATE THE AUX BATTERY to a different place where it can be changed out in just a...
When mine was new and still had the skinny Bridgestone Dueler street tires on it, I could easily get 22-23 mpg on the highway if (and this is important) - IF - I kept my speed below 65 MPH. I have a 80-mile round trip commute to work & back - about 80% highway - and I could easily average 22...
I forgot to mention one thing I DID do to improve comfort… I put an inexpensive neoprene cover from Amazon on my center arm rest because I found the vinyl (Sport S) sticky/uncomfortable. The neoprene adds a little more padding and makes it easier for your arm to move around on it.
Oh, no doubt… and that’s exactly my point. Not only is it a mid-size pickup, it’s a JEEP with solid axles on both ends, thin removable doors and top, and the aerodynamics of a barn. OF COURSE it’s not a luxo-barge… it isn’t supposed to be… but, I think it’s very comfortable despite all that and...
How about a positive post for a change? LOL I've read a lot of negative posts on here and elsewhere complaining about the comfort of the Gladiator - specifically the seats, lack of a dead pedal, rough ride, and and wind noise. My last truck was an '09 Tacoma, so that's my main basis of...
My biggest gripe with ESS and the aux battery is simply where they decided to put it and the fact that it requires an hour of work to change it out! If you could swap it out in just a few minutes (like the main battery), it would be FAR less of a hassle. I get that there isn't a lot of room...
Nice. So you used the bracket? Did you attach it with screws into your console or use the double-sided tape with it? I was just gonna use the double-sided tape to permanently stick it... somewhere, but that wouldn't work in that location. You'd have to be able to pull it up to see the display...
I got it installed last week and have been playing with the various settings. It definitely removes the sluggish/lethargic feeling of the 3.6 Pentastar (probably at the expense of fuel mileage, but whatever). I currently have it on Sport 8, I believe, but will probably dial it back to 6 or 7...
My Hike It XS pedal controller is out for delivery right now. I know it doesn't add any power, but the laggy throttle response is annoying at times, so I thought I'd give this a try for less than half the cost of the "Pedal Commander" to make it more responsive. Seems like a quality item too...
