Anybody else using a wireless portable compressor?

I like the idea of these little portable battery operated compressors. I haven't been pushed for a need yet.

I run a Power Tank 10lb CO2 tank. Their regulators are hands down pretty nice. I think that is what you are paying for. A nice painted tank I know I paid for also so I make sure the gas place that fills for me doesn't swap it out. For the times my neighbors ask for tire assistance or similar, I know the Power Tank is ready and not worried if I have a charged battery. Not sure how long a battery would last stored in a vehicle in Florida.

I have the same compressor as @WILDHOBO and I love it. Use it all over the place, on road calls, around the farm, any time I am out of easy reach of the shop air lines. A little big to be part of my off road gear though.
Currently I have the Harbor Freight version of the Vanair, it works. It gets hot and takes a while to air up but it works. It is small and portable so that is good, I can help someone out easier than on-board systems.
I have to admit, I am really liking this inflator option though. Set and forget air pressure is really nice. @PuddleJumper thanks for spending more of my money, er, I mean thanks for the helpful info!!

Time is money? Probably saved themselves about a half hour of airing up. Or time costs money? You get the idea. If I was buying 4 of them I think I'd look for a different solution LOL

4 units and 4 batteries would cover the cost of an ARB onboard at that point.

Exactly my point. 4 inflators and 4 batteries are more expensive than a faster system with a four hose manifold system.

I use the Rigid but also have the ARB suitcase attached to molle panel in my bed. None the less Im always lending the Rigid out to new comers or fellow off-roaders. Love it have had it for a while. My go to tool kit is a Yeti box with my M12 impact and wrench.

The Preece regulators are absolutely top quality as well. They specialize in racing, so do very high psi regulators for pneumatic shifters and similar as well. It’s really nice stuff. Powertank charges for the name brand.

When I used to use the m18 compressor as the primary, I brought a tiny m12 inflator (set and forget digital) as the backup. It takes FOREVER on 37’s though.

I have this Milwaukee one, and it's fantastic! You set a pressure into it, turn it on, and after it gets close, and a few starts and stops to verify the pressure, it stops on its own. The only down side is it does take a little time for all 4 tires, and it will use almost the whole charge of the small M18 battery to do it. I imagine with larger tires, it would take an extended battery to finish them all, or two of the small batteries.

In my compressor I use a 12amp battery. It allows me about 3 air ups without charging it.

I looked into the cordless pumps a couple of years ago and unless things have changed, they all have dinky pumps that don't move a lot of air. They're just not enough to to inflate a big 33-37" tire without being seriously over-worked - unless you're just topping one tire off a couple of pounds or so. I went with a nice corded ViAir pump that attaches directly to my battery (so as not to blow the power port fuse) instead. It inflates a tire MUCH faster than the cheap discount store corded pump I had before. It's really not that much of an inconvenience to unwind the cord and hook it up to the battery... and that's one less battery I have to worry about keeping charged.

I have a Dewalt inflator. It's small, lightweight, and does what I need. Runs off a Dewalt battery or you can power it with your Jeep.

Ridgid has a small cordless pancake compressor, no batteries tool only for $140. Another option for some.

I prefer speed over portability. I went with the Thor air compressor. It airs all 4 tires up in 4-5 minutes.

You’d be surprised at how well the Milwaukee, with a 12amp battery and 2 gallon tank does. I’d put it against the ViAir all day it fills 4 37’s in less than 10 minutes with no overheat or duty cycle issues.

I don’t doubt it, but that’s not the type of pump I was talking about. Who wants to lug a 2-gallon tank around?

It’s actually quite small, and is built into the unit.
