Anybody else using a wireless portable compressor?

When I have some time this spring and do wiring for a light controller, I'm going to wire a disconnect. Plan to have it as a solenoid that has is wired to the switch controller and use a spare switch for the disconnect. Then re-wire the end of one of those gator clip air compressors.

In the meantime, yes an old cigarette powered one and battery powered one is what i have... both of mine are under powered though.

I have the Ryobi hand held.I find it only good if you are down 2-3 lbs.More than that it starts heating up.Great for bikes or small tires.

That doesn't sound great for 15lbs in 4 tires...

I always tell myself I'll get around to doing onboard air. The next tire size up maybe or next time im adding other accessories. It has yet to happen ?. Now i wheel 2-3 day stints, 2-3 time a month all year. I got a m18 milwaukee inflator tool back when i had no idea what i was doing. Shockingly this thing has never failed, always works and always get bothered to borrow it by buddies airing up cus im the first done. It does 33s from 12 to 37psi in 8 min all 4. does all my 37s 10 to 27psi in 14 min. With my one 8ah battery it'll do 4 whole rigs and only use 3 bars out of 4. I'm to the point that i'll get onboard air just for cool points but still run this little bastard. It even got my buddy's 34in offroad camper tires from 22 to 65 psi in under 30 min.

We use Dewalt because it matches our ither trail tools? A little slow but works

DeWalt, works well, has adapters for other things that need air. A little large in size, but even the small battery runs quite a while (all four tires several times - mine are stock JTR). I think each manufacturer makes a reasonable product, so sticking with the brand you already have batteries for makes the most sense.

I have the Ridgid one and it has never let me down. I usually carry a charged battery but have used the 12V adapter more often then not. I'd like to have onboard air and have the split inflation system to air all at once but for now this works just fine.

I have an 18v Milwaukee compressor with 2 gallon tank. It works great. It was cost effective since I already had LOTS of batteries. I use co2 now as my primary air up tool, but still bring it with me for longer trips as the backup.

u can get milwaukee batteries on amazon that don't say Milwaukee and they are much cheaper. My buddy did this and we split one to compare to my big brand label one. Exact same battery. different sticker. Milwaukee charged me 110 bucks extra for a sticker. Thats the tool industry for ya. ?‍

oh boy...i've been looking for an inflation solution. I too have been a home owner hooked on the Ryobi tools but really like that Milwaukee form factor, which would mean new battery...new charger...plus both on board. ugh...decisions decisions....

Co2 would cost you less. Check out Preece Products. Super high quality, fantastic support, and 1/2 the price of power tank.

Time is money? Probably saved themselves about a half hour of airing up. Or time costs money? You get the idea. If I was buying 4 of them I think I'd look for a different solution LOL

4 units and 4 batteries would cover the cost of an ARB onboard at that point.

I like the idea of these little portable battery operated compressors. I haven't been pushed for a need yet.

I run a Power Tank 10lb CO2 tank. Their regulators are hands down pretty nice. I think that is what you are paying for. A nice painted tank I know I paid for also so I make sure the gas place that fills for me doesn't swap it out. For the times my neighbors ask for tire assistance or similar, I know the Power Tank is ready and not worried if I have a charged battery. Not sure how long a battery would last stored in a vehicle in Florida.

I have the same compressor as @WILDHOBO and I love it. Use it all over the place, on road calls, around the farm, any time I am out of easy reach of the shop air lines. A little big to be part of my off road gear though.
Currently I have the Harbor Freight version of the Vanair, it works. It gets hot and takes a while to air up but it works. It is small and portable so that is good, I can help someone out easier than on-board systems.
I have to admit, I am really liking this inflator option though. Set and forget air pressure is really nice. @PuddleJumper thanks for spending more of my money, er, I mean thanks for the helpful info!!

Exactly my point. 4 inflators and 4 batteries are more expensive than a faster system with a four hose manifold system.
