Coolant temp isn't an issue here. Oil temp is. Oil temps are higher on JT because the EcoDiesel oil cooler was removed when the engine was allocated to the Gladiator platform AND the pan is smaller. We have 3 qts less capacity! It was there with the RAM, the Maserati, the Grand Cherokee, etc...
Were your results after doing Insane Diesel bypass + Active cooler, or did you do an Active cooler direct to the block (not filter)? Just curious. I'm running ID's filter bypass with their filter and cooler as well. I have had good results but its not 100%. Still occasionally hitting 265+ and...
It's pretty simple. The interior of the Gladiator is the same size except for the back. The back is bigger. You add a cover and add full length roof rack and you have 2x+ the storage space. If the dog needs to be in the back and you aren't ok with it not being cooled, then you need a full size...
Few notes:
- Not enough room to mount the oil coolers on top of the engine between that and the hood. Passive at the radiator or active at the bed seems like your best bet. I reduced oil temps by 10 degrees using a passive oil cooler and external oil filter. I could upgrade to an active cooler...
I molded airbox today as well. I don't like thst ots basically a scoop for water now. Makes me want to get a CAI simply because it won't suck up water and be more open, even though there's no real gains from it other than that.
So the argument I'm seeing here is that opening up the air box is increasing air flow, subsequently reducing air temperature and having some affect on EGR temp as a result?
Has anyone measured this to confirm? And, has this affected oil temps as a result?
If so, this would make a huge case for a...
That's my thought right now. I'm thinking I could mount it flat under the bed. Run the hoses high along the frame. But, before I go test far I really would like to see someone do an active cooler with a high volume pump.
Sorry, but I'm not interested in the work.
At this point, its likely my Gladiator will have a custom tuned ECU and trans, deleted, methanol injected, all before it even has 15,000 miles on it. The warranty stuff doesn't bug me. I can rebuild it when it comes time and at that point I'll just...

They'll address it if people push their engines and the engines fail. At that point they'll push on consumers to pay for engine replacements until someone wins a court case. Then they'll have to apply engineers to make a solution.
Anyone tried methanol injection yet on a JT? Curious if using a Snow or AEM kit even with a smaller 250mm nozzle would get you just enough water in there to cool it down. Not looking for tuner HP, but a cooling solution.
I haven't really tracked changes in Engine Temp, so I don't want to comment on that. It should, but who knows.
I was comfortable spending $$$ on a filter cap, oil cap, oil hose, and an oil cooler. You could piece this together for $250 and decide if that's worth a 10 degree temp drop. It's...
I've seen improvements of 7-10 degrees. That's not amazing, but its working just enough to make it tolerable with a trailer behind me. At 65mph, I'm golden at 230 EOT now. I go higher when at 75mph because of my gearing which is a unique issue as I geared it much lower than anyone should for...
The oil filter cycles 2G of oil per minute according to InsaneDiesel. The EcoDiesel holds an oil capacity of 2.7G. The additional particulate filter, cooler and hoses add an additional 1G of oil capacity. Therefore, you are cycling a larger distribution of heat at a rate of 54% of oil every 60...
It's about the weight/gear you put on it. If your bed is empty, and you don't run a spare, no issue.
If you have toolboxes, larger spare tire, bed rack, etc then it'll sag. Since the MC Gamechanger uses springs and not coilovers, you can't lower the front ride height to compensate.
So, your...
