  1. Who makes 4.5"+ rear HD coils for diesels?

Theirs sagged after the weight I put on them. Ended up using 6.5" Diesel springs. That gave me a 1" rake without a trailer and dead on with any tongue weight.
  2. Diesel coil spring rates

I've fixed it now. We had to go with 6.5" rear springs from Evo so they sagged down to ~5" so I have a slight rake to the back with my fronts.

I've always heard its safe to 450 degrees, but Mopar posted the following: "High oil temperature in excess of 240°F (115°C) will break down petroleum oils and cause oxidation, which in turn forms deposits, varnish and increases wear." Lots of info in the Ram forums around 260+ starting to show...
  4. Diesel cooling options and ideas

If you look to my post earlier in the thrad, that's what I did. I'm running the filter cap, earlier filter and added an inline oil cooler. Working great. Also, the 2nd and 3rd gen filter material is the same. They made is simpler to install for lube techs @ dealers with the 3rd gen due to the 1...

260s will break down the oil. You're safe at 240.

If it's that easy we should have had a system already.
  7. Ecodiesel power derating as temps rise?

Correct, but my comment was to address that the clip is an issue. The best solution here could be scoops/ram air over specific areas, as well as in to a larger intercooler. But, there likely isn't even a place to put something like that. The engine compartment is far too small.
  8. Ecodiesel power derating as temps rise?

But, there's people who have pulled the entire clip and fenders and didn't affect temps.
  9. Ecodiesel power derating as temps rise?

Adding oil coolers had been covered in court ad nauseum. They can't void for it.
  10. Ecodiesel power derating as temps rise?

I can't imagine a Tune and delete would do much for heat?
  11. Ecodiesel power derating as temps rise?

Well, I started with an oil cooler. If this doesn't do enough, a large intercooler is next.
  12. Ecodiesel power derating as temps rise?

In another thread, people towing up grades were hitting derates once oil temps crosses 265. That seems to trigger it every time and then it forces you to 40mph. I'm attempting to introduce additional oil cooling to keep it below 265.

We lightly dusted the silver oil cooler with black spraypaint so it blends in behind the grill more without affecting its ability to cool. Also, removing the filter is actually very easy. We left enough slack on it so you can remove the 1 bolt, raise it up and down and it's ready to unscrew...

I'm not going to do a detailed write-up because unless you're comfortable with fabrication and if you know nothing about working on your own truck, then you shouldn't do this. For the DIY crowd, I'll write some notes and give some links to how we did this. Overall, for the DIY crowd (you are DIY...
  15. Ecodiesel power derating as temps rise?

No, but I like that they look clean when installed.
  16. Ecodiesel power derating as temps rise?

Yes, installed bypass filter and then added a cooler. Yes, power steering cooler to go in conjunction with my Hydro Assist + Apex Adjuster. The Apex cooler won't work with the Evo Winch bumper since it chops the front frame and brings it in close for better approach angle, and so the cooler...
  17. Ecodiesel power derating as temps rise?

Apologies for some of that post not coming through correctly. I'm been doing a lot of driving this morning so I'm using speech to text for convenience.

https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B08KGJQDZ6/ref=ppx_yo_mob_b_track_package_o0_img?ie=UTF8&psc=1 I chose this cooler due to the material, and size constraints.
  19. Ecodiesel power derating as temps rise?

I used their generic bracket and made a few small modifications to it and tied it in to the driver's side motor mount by using the factory holes and replaced the 2 factory bolts that were not long enough with 2 grade 8 bolts. The oil cooler was lightly dusted with black spray paints to make it...
