If what you say is true, then you guys are really planning on going bankrupt, or knowing that you're selling Jeeps, you'll make it up in maintenance/service costs...
Also, what would you say is the % of sheep that pays full MSRP (off the street sales) vs what you are offering on these...

My dealer offers the following:
1. He offers no BS 5-6% below invoice, with no bloated fees/add-ons.
2. He doesn't hound me, or ask me to come to the Dealership (that is one sure fire way of not ever getting my money).
3. He talks to me over the phone, and/or email...
After multiple phone calls/emails, the consensus I get is as follows:
1. Ordering beings in April
2. Production begins in July
3. No ordering information available currently - so initial and late avail colors are unknown
It looks like some kind of quality control, pull to the side, and/or review scenario at the factory. It could be any number of reasons why it has gloss black, but if Gator is truly that color - then it definitely has potential!

If ESS makes you feel all warm and fuzzy - then it's a good thing. If you are happy, that's what matters.
I just happen to not agree with what you state, or the theory behind ESS; but I respect your beliefs and choices.

Based on your data(using the 17 mpg and 18 mpg only). I'm not incorporating highway mpg since ESS isn't really utilised.
Also the following assumptions: 1 tank of gas per week, 20 gallon tank and $3 per gallon.
Your cost savings = $2.64 per month.

Unfortunately, it is set to start/stop by default. They do offer a button to turn it off. However, you have to hit that button every time if you want to disable it.
I do not like it.
