The projected unit cost of the MO Kestrel is pretty high. Hopefully they can make a more reasonably priced version. A GVW increase seems very reasonable. A collaborative MO/AEV Kestrel in J370 spec... complete with 4.88 gears would fit the bill.
Hacking up completed trucks is inefficient. Supplier Park was built for this! They could take partiel vehicles off the line, do the cab close-out and have a completed Cab/chassis vehicle right there from Toledo. Now the fun part- they could do this with JLs as well. Important part would be to...
There is no reason to go with 4.88 instead of 5.13. Even at 80, its only 2626rpm. That Pentastar wants every one of those revs to move a turbulent brick down the road. It'll shift less while cruising, won't use any more fuel, and give you the best, reliable performance. 5.13!
according to the order sheet, the '24 Willys keeps the 3.73 gears and non-wide axles, despite the addition of the 33" tires. Would make more sense from a parts perspective to just use the Rubicon/Mojave rear axle and MaxTow front axle.
In my opinion- Jasper. For any application they sell, they typically fix whatever original problems existed. No complaints on our Jasper Pentastar in our '14 JK.
To elaborate (it's what I do...), the OE JL/JT clutch is a dual disk design. It's supposed to have some advantages in terms of feel, holding power, and required pedal pressure, but doesn't dissipate heat as well. In a Jeep, it just isn't the best choice. The "aftermarket replacement" changes the...
I noticed that I couldn't find any markets that still had the 2.2 Multijet. Many were 4xe only. Stellantis doesn't want to invest in bringing the Ecodiesel up to the next emissions standard (which GM did, giving us the LZ0)
The Rusty's kit comes for stout control arms that will hold the axle properly at ride height. Problem is that the camber curve ends up different. A drop bracket kit is actually better for this.
