On the Wrangler, it makes a bit more sense. It has a pretty big upgrade for slightly more money. On th Gladiator, there wasn't many changes. I had a Willys Sport JT and paid a lot less for it. Some people don't need power locks and windows. It saves them a few grand.
The Wrangler got a lot of the old Rubicon parts and a rear locker. The Sport and Willys is a big difference on the 24 Wrangler.
The JT Willy's is basically a Sport S with an LSD. They both have the Dana 44s. Same fenders, and the Willys has a slightly better suspension.

The 2024 Willy's is getting a rear locker. An upgrade from the LSD.

according to the order sheet, the '24 Willys keeps the 3.73 gears and non-wide axles, despite the addition of the 33" tires. Would make more sense from a parts perspective to just use the Rubicon/Mojave rear axle and MaxTow front axle.

to my knowledge they stopped building willys sports part of the way through MY2023
Personally i think the much bigger miss for MY24 is the overland being gone. With leather being restricted behind X packages, the only way to factory leather is hideously priced. I know there is the katzkin accessory option leather, but you know most people wont go that route (for those on the fence i've had my katzkin installed for over a year and still love it)
