Mine steered better with the LT255/75/17 BFG KM2s mud tires than the stock P245/75/17 Bridgestone Dueler highway tires that it came with. Since I have the new box, I've never put the stock tires back on to try them.
Gladiators are very popular in the Georgia mountain community where I live.
My Sport S is fine on the highway - though ny next set of tires won't be BF Goodrich KM2s if I spend much time on the highway.
You might find some handle poorly because the tires are over inflated (dealer hasn't adjusted from shipping). Next one you test drive, scroll through the screen and look at the tire pressure.
Uconnect 5 supports wireless CarPlay and Android Auto, but Uconnect 5 is not yet available in Gladiator. If/when it does come available it would require a head unit swap to a new Unconnect 5 head unit.
I used to have a Jeep Renegade (cheap little commuter vehicle for PA winters). It would randomly show up an "audio system failure" message on the display and the RR speaker would quit working. My dealer was a champion. They thought it was the speaker, but the problem remained. They traced the...
I came from a 2013 JKU and a Ram 1500 into my 2020 Gladiator.
I never expected the Gladiator to drive like the Ram, but I at least expected it to be as good as the JKU. It didn't until the steering box was replaced. The Gladiator was always fun around town, but was tiring at highway speeds. Now...
The 2021 comes with the steering box mentioned inthe TSB. So the issue of the aluminum steering box was resolved for 2021.
That doesn't mean every steel steering box is good though.
This site has traditionally been pretty accurate. But who knows this year. As for the later model year changeover, the for the past several years Charger/Challenger/300 have always been late in the year changeovers...
The "steering wheel not straight" message is from the stop/start system. The auto stop/start is disabled if the wheels are turned. It is unrelated to your transmission problem.
I traded a Ram 1500 Classic Quad Cab for the Gladiator. I do miss the towing capacity, the extra room in the cab, and some options the Ram had the Gladiator does not.
But I love the size of the Gladiator in normal driving, the top, it's just more fun to drive even just going to the store.
I...
My Gladiator is a Sport with the Bridgestone HT tires, 245/75/17. I swapped to JK wheels with 255/75/17 BF Goodrich KM2s. Steering was actually a little bit better with the Goodrich tires I swapped on.
it's "net promoter score" garbage.
9 or 10 is good
7 or 8 is OK
0-6 is negative.
It's really skewed from a logical scale:

I left mine for an oil change and had mentioned both when making the appointment and when dropping it off about the steering TSB,
When I picked it up, there was nothing on the paperwork about the steering.
I called in, and after several minutes on hold, was told i'd be on the list for a steering...
They should be accomodating you. I had an extended wait for parts and after getting the attention (up line in FCA) I got: 1) Parts expedited. 2) A loaner vehicle. 3) Reimbursed for one month's payment.
Follow the chain in the owner's manual or contact Jeep Cares to get it started.
Yes.
Gap (and equivalent replacement) only means you get what you had. If it's a year old with 20k miles on it, that's what they reimburse you for. Usually that means less than what it cost new so you'd have some out of pocket expense to buy a new truck.
New car replacement pays a bit more...
What's the average wait time for a steering box now? I've been on the list a month. Or is it still dependent on the dealer and if Jeep Cares is involved?
He needs to drive both and decide for himself. I had a Ram 1500 before my Gladiator. Sometimes I miss the cab room and the extra room in the bed that the Ram had. And the Ram's ride was more luxurious. . But the Ram was just so big I find the Gladiator much better to drive in town and easier to...
