For those of you trying this bumper out (as there is scarce info out there on it) a badlands apex will not fit. The issue isn’t bumper clearance but rather winch plate clearance. The case of that badlands winch is just too big. You could cut the winch plate a bit but it’s right where it’s...
I did the Clayton 3.5" overland plus, steering stabilizer, axle disconnect skid. Love it. I'm stuck between 4.88 and 5.13 gears. The 4.10's now drive pretty well but I need to make my mind up on gears soon. Lots of hwy, not much towing. I'm leaning 4.88 as it's pretty flat around here. Gas...
I'll let you know in a week or so. Just bought one and mounting a winch. The steel rubicon bumper was my original pick but geese...new skid, bumper, winch mount plate, hoop...almost 2 grand before I even buy the winch. This has all of those for 670. And you re use your factory fogs. I like...
Hitch and heat shield. It sits between two outer rails and up against the cross member rails. I took one of my method 701 9” rims mounted with a nitto and tried a fit test before I bought the spare to test fit. You could squish it in there shifted off center aired down with the bent track bar...
I have the Clayton off-road adjustable track bar. It has a bend in it to accommodate large spares. I put a used 37x12.50x17 BFG KO2 on our factory steel spare 7.5” rim. It fits perfectly fully aired up. Shield and all.
Judging from what I can see with this used ko2, a new one with full thread width should still fit on a stock steely rim up underneath just fine. I do have the Clayton track bar with the bend in it but it looks like a straight track bar would still fit with this setup as well.
Reporting back. Mounted and balanced easily on the spare 7.5” rim. Fits perfectly just clears between the rails with heat shield on and in its original place. I have 2 extra used spares if anyone else wants one.
I got my hands on a used set of 37x12.50x17 BFG KO2’s for cheap. I will attempt to mount on my steely spare 7.5” stock rim. The ko2’s run a tad smaller than other 37’s. I believe 36.5” diameter. With treads worn down a bit (but still some left) it should be barely under 36” which will fit...

I've been trying to find a full size spare solution as well. My method 17x9" with 37x12.50 ridge grapplers won't fit so I will try a smaller 37 mounted on the spare 7.5" rim. BFG KO2's run a tad smaller (36.5"). As luck would have it, I will pick up a used set Monday. The tread is worn down...
I PM’d Clayton and he gave me some good advice. A little bow in the springs was to be expected. I started over with the lowers and got much of the spring bow out of it. Pinion back to 2.5 degrees. I ordered a rock jock carrier spacer to help with that angle. That way I can take even more bow out...
Thanks. I readjusted rear pinion to around 3 degrees. I moved the axle a bit forward so it’s not perfectly centered in the wheels well. An 3/4 of an inch forward in the back. 1/2” longer than recommended length in the instructions for the lower rear arms. Seemed to take some spring bow out...
@Clayton Off Road
Just installed it and have a couple questions. Preferred rear driveshaft angle? Preferred Front caster angle? Should the wheels be perfectly centered in the wells using the lower control arms first? How critical is having your wheel centered in the well?. I see the bottom...
Just installed the 3.5 overland. Impressive! Quick question, front and rear pinion angles? My rear driveshaft ended up at 5 degrees. What is recommended? My caster is around 5 degrees. Trying to dial her in. Also, I was trying to center the wheels in the wheel well by adjusting the lower...
