Curious if this has a positive effect on EGT’s while pulling.

tops out at 11,300, thebase is at 8800. All in roughly 7 miles. It was more than the ecodiesel wanted.

Ok made it back from my trip to the San Juans. On the west side of Monarch pass I derated, this is a long steep grade and outside temps were sitting right at 85*. All other passes went well, though at times power was limited, I’m guessing EGT’s however I was still able to maintain speed with...

70mph flat and anywhere between 50 and 25 over the passes. Keep in mind these passes are on hwy 285 and hwy 50 not I-70. In effect I was able to go as fast as I felt comfortable going through the twisties. Just made it over Red Mountain same story. Turning on the fan with the Tazer. The fan is...

Just rolled into Montrose, four mountain passes down one more to go. I have been turning my fan on manually once oil reaches 240*. No derates today. The changes I made seem to be working, granted it’s only 75* ambient out.

Not a great picture but it will give you an idea. The horns cover a little over a third of the trans cooler and then the portion of the radiator behind it.

The only problem I have with this set up is typically a bypass set up is only filtering or in this case cooling about 10% of the flow. I’m not sure if that is enough to make a meaningful difference. As for the horn relocation, there are two horns placed in the upper corns of the cooling stack...

From what I could gather in other forums the fan comes on at 230*. If I could hit a grade at 200* vs the roughly 220* that it normally runs then I may get up the grade without the derate. Hopefully. I’m looking forward to seeing what next week brings. Between gears, functional hood vents, horn...

The latest firmware update was in early June you can now turn the fan on while driving with “cool down mode” I’m not sure when the fan typically turns on, I have never heard it turn on until I was derated and going slow enough to hear it. Haha

This is the recent Tazer update on the cool down feature, can be used with engine on and driving. While headed back from Denver last night traffic was doing the slinky B.S. from 55-80mph coolant temps were 217*, I turned on the fan and it dropped the coolant temp to 201* in roughly 3 minutes...

Picked the JT up tonight after getting 4:56’s installed. It already feels great, 24mpg from Denver to Windsor on I-25. Also updated the Tazer and now have manual control over my cooling fan. I will be dragging a 26 foot camper from Windsor to Silverton next week, I’ll report my results. Also...

He must have copy and pasted the same email to me. Lol

I’m not sure that a turbo blanket is the right answer. The turbo is water cooled, insulating the turbo would put more burden on the already marginal cooling system.

I have used Derale in the past for trans coolers, they put together a nice product. For engine oil I would prefer to AN or JIC connections with a wire braid hydraulic type hose. Barbed fittings and straight rubber make me nervous, a trans will give you some warning when it’s not happy (low oil...

I think the best thing we can do at this point is to all reach out individually and show them that there is a need, this will help them build a business case.

I emailed Mishimoto this morning asking for them to consider developing a direct fit auxiliary oil cooler kit for the JT/JL Ecodiesel Jeeps. Please do like wise and we may show enough need out there for them to consider it. [email protected]

Look at Derale coolers, they have multiple active cooler remote mount options.
