Hey there! The 2.5" kit is really about a 3" lift which is measured from the rear, and around 4" up front since we do remove 1" of factory rake. A new driveshaft is not required, but is recommended if you plan on wheeling the Jeep often! The 3.5" lifts come with brake lines/extensions, no need...
We definitely recommend it! Some customers choose to go with shock extensions in the beginning which is fine, but ultimately do not provide any additional travel so you don't truly get the full benefits of the lift. Long term it's always best to go with a new set of shocks designed for the same...

4.75" is actually our recommended minimum, and Rubicon models with the wider axles can actually get closer to 5" without any rubbing. Stock wheels would require about a 1.75" wheel spacer to work properly without any rubbing, and is how we have one of our JLs set up here!
Front driveshaft upgrade is really only needed for guys that plan on wheeling the truck pretty hard and often, for on-road driving nothing to worry about!
