I've still got my 2007 Wrangler, and take it on overlanding trips at 269,000 miles. It'll be the same with the Gladiator, just in rotation. Besides, I detest driving auto transmission vehicles, and figure the end of the road is nigh for manuals in the U.S. So unlikely many new vehicles in my...
Yes, gotta love those Amazon reviews. They are always never paid off scams.

We both decided to keep the mustaches after the Al-Can trip when neither of us shaved for 44 days. The hats aren't identical. In fact, Ray lost his on the last day of our Al-Can trip, so had to buy a new one. But Ray got that--honest to God--after being embarrassed that he was the only one in...
I just finished watching the Sci-Fi Channel miniseries "The Triangle" a couple days ago. They got that Philadelphia Experiment rift fixed, after all. Only problem was, everyone returned to slightly different lives. Fortunately, I still have all four of my kids, eight grands, and my Wrangler...
Exactly what I was thinking. He wonders about that weird guy who has exactly copied his rig and has even posted a comment about it on a Gladiator group somewhere on the internet.
Just kidding of course. I took my friend of many decades on his first ever Jeep adventure many years ago. In...
That's pretty cool. As for the price, consider how much you might pay for a quality trailer. Yes, there are trailers that cost around this much, and this might include similarly priced components. Or maybe they opted for top-of-the-line parts. Without knowing that, it's difficult to judge...
When I first moved to Oklahoma City in the mid-80s, my mom asked if I'd send her something from the state. I thought an Eskimo Joe's sweatshirt would be great (born in New Hampshire and raised in Maine, she's lived too many decades in Chula Vista, south of San Diego ). So, I headed to...
Do what TrouFishingInAmerica wrote about using an Easy-out suggested, especially that drill in the center and straight to avoid nicking the threads you're trying to screw into.
A couple random thoughts on how you got here and what you should have done differently: If the threaded hole had...
This ^^^^. For an idea of what to expect, let me point you at a video where I rode with a friend of mine in his 2012 Jeep JK Wrangler on 33s. If you figure to not tackle anything any tougher than that road, then you're pretty good to go (only your long wheelbase would be problematic on this...
Are you finding the limited availability of ULSD fuel a problem during your travels in Baja?

I was surprised how quiet the premium fabric softop is compared to a regular softop (non-premium) on my 2007 JK. As mentioned, at higher speed with winds it can be a little noisy, but fnot as much as that JK (even with a hardtop, LOL). For daily around town use, it's quite comfortable.
I have been making studio chats on the last video of each trip series that update viewers on mods. The JT rock sliders are from Ace Engineering. Check the most recent several playlists on my YT front page for more info on the build.
The JK is set up much better for overlanding. While I've made some improvements to the JT, it doesn't have a fridge, storage drawers and shelves, etc. I hope to use it (indeed, have already) on some runs, but when I need a vehicle to actually live out of, the Wrangler serves best. For now.
Just watched it a couple days ago ...
Seemed appropriate since I was in Wakita (with my JK) last week while driving the TransAmerica Trail ...
And even got to see Dorothy (though the museum wasn't open) ...
Putting the video series together now. Here is the teaser, should anyone be...
If you use your rig hard and wish to keep the original fabric, whatever you choose, looking new, then consider installing quality seat covers. I have Escape Gear (made in South Africa) in my JK, and they are outstanding. I hear that Bartact now makes excellent seat covers for the JT, so may...
Apologies for the digression, but it appears your questions are being answered.
For years I've tried to figure out what it is that I didn't like about Broncos (old or yet to come) as opposed to Jeeps and I think you just gave me a new vocabulary that defines it. My JK is Jeep Green and my JT...
One of the advantages I like about aftermarket options is if you have a dual-battery install, then you can power all of the added hardware off the aux battery. Which is exactly what I did in my 2007 JK. Still, the ease of install with the OEM aux switches is super convenient, and exactly what...
Help me to understand this. I just finished the OK part of the TAT with a friend driving his FJ Cruiser and he was using a Magellan with Sam's tracks that I had furnished to him. Now I had cleaned up those tracks to remove all the useless points, which bog down the Nexus 7 device I use running...
