Iām selling my RSI Smartcap. I love this camper, but Iām looking at going Wrangler.
Itās in great shape and has done well for me.
Ready to pick up when you are. $3995.
Youāll get the camper, clamps to secure it to your bed and keys.
Iām selling my RSI Smartcap if anyone is interested. I listed it in the classified area. Available now. Itās a great cap, but Iām looking at going Wrangler.
I love this smartcap, but I want to go a different route. I purchased it in February 2022. Iām asking $3,995 and itās available as soon as tomorrow afternoon if you pick it up in San Antonio. Message me if youāre interested. I canāt deliver it, so youāll need to arrange for pickup if you...
Going from Denver to steamboat springs, traveling the speed limit up hill, the highest oil temps I saw was 250* at 65 mph. Coolant temp was about 215* and oil was around 219*.
@ShadowsPapa
i agree, my temperatures- particularly in the morning when the OAT is in the upper 70ās are low.
however, I am seeing the fan kick on in the afternoon when OATs are above 100*.
There are two things I can control with this experiment- speed and weight.
I think I am noticing the...
Thanks for the screen shot. I see your outside air temperatures are 57*. Do you think your temperatures would be higher with higher outside air temperatures?
Your oil temperatures are somewhat elevated. Do you know how much weight you were towing?
Unfortunately I ran into traffic on the way home yesterday and had to detour. As a result, I didnāt have similar circumstances to update the post with. Hopefully Iāll get them tomorrow.
@Rusty PW, i have approximately 35,500 miles on the clock. Thatās a relevant data point I didnāt think to...
For all of the folks here who have other Stellantis vehicles with the 3.0L ecodiesel, what are your normal operating coolant, transmission, and oil temperatures? (No, I didnāt search, but Iāve been involved in or have read most of the other threads regarding ecodiesel cooling on this forum - so...
I definitely agree. I have owned diesels since 2004 (2004.5 Chevy 2500 LLY Duramax, 2006 GMC 3500 LBZ Duramax, 2011 Ford F-350 6.7L Powestroke, 1997 GMC Suburban K2500 6.5L, 2019 Ford F-150 3.0L Powerstroke). Getting used to the nuances of diesel powered vehicles takes some getting used to in...
I put a Thule rack on mine. I put square m6 or m8 nuts in the track and bolted the rack to it. Pretty easy.
That said; I might get the RSI rack and put my Thule rack above the rear portion of the hard top for storage up there.
I have been considering trading in my fully loaded JTRD for a ā22 or ā23 with the 3.6L (otherwise same options). This is a little bit rambly- Iām typing this on my phone and itās not easy to put everything in ideal order - my apologies.
Why would I consider going to a ālesser engine?ā...
I bought mine through a local dealer in San Antonio. Between putting my name down for a waitlist and being notified the camper was in stock, I waited maybe 3 months.
I think the wait was totally worth it. Now I just wish I could get the load bars.
33k miles, no engine issues. I just had the DEF reprogramming recall done within the past 500 miles. My engine overheats when I tow my travel trailer in the summer, but other than that, it runs pretty well.
Iām n central Texas, we get about half and half for who waves. I also ride motorcycles, and motorcyclists will wave across a divided highway⦠jeep owners are not nearly as committed to the cause.
If cooler air is the requirement, then what about trimming the hood like the 3.6L owners do when they install the factory MOPAR snorkel? I realize they have the snorkel to keep water out, but during normal highway use; it would be direct, cooler air right next to the filter box; thereās already...
I donāt know about the āfriend in Utah,ā but Iām the guy in Texas who got the MOPAR 2ā lift installed āfor free.ā It fixes much of the problem, but my ED gladiator with the 2ā MOPAR lift still doesnāt ride over speed bumps as elegantly as my wifeās non-lifted 3.6L JLUR. I still hit the bump...
