  1. Line-X vs BedRug or others?

Yeah, I would not let the small price difference (small in the grand scheme of things) drive the decision.
  2. Line-X vs BedRug or others?

If you’re going to cover the bed (I.e. Camper shell) and just use it to carry some gear around, I guess I get the bed rug thing. Otherwise, Line-X or equivalent.
  3. If you had $1500 to spend on your Jeep today....

Not from that alone, but I’ve got an Alu-Cab, bigger and heavier tires vs. stock (and full-size matching spare), 100 lbs of gear and tools, etc. It’s livable at the moment, but 50lbs here and 50lbs there…at some point it won’t be.
  4. $4000 budget for lift and rims and tires.

That’s pretty solid (enabling) advice. You win the internets.
  5. $4000 budget for lift and rims and tires.

I wouldn’t recommend biting off more than you can chew while you’re in the employment boat. Given your situation…it might be worth looking into JTR take-offs as a “tide you over” for now kind of thing. Note - This is post #16 and unless I missed it, not one previous responder mentioned that...
  6. If you had $1500 to spend on your Jeep today....

There’s nothing that I could spend $1,500 on for my JT…at this point..that wouldn’t open up some other can of worms. I.e. My first thought when I hear spend $1,500 is “new front bumper and winch.” The problem with that is then I’ve got to do something to fix the (likely) sag in the front end...
  7. Why don't they make a Gladiator that looks like this....

Nice. It would have to be called the Freedom Boner edition.
  8. Has anyone tried the ThinSkinz door protector? My huskies are messing my back doors up good lol

I’ve had mine since early on, too. Pretty happy with them and they’re easy to remove and reinstall.
  9. Anyone else feel like they don't get ducked enough?

People show up to Jeep gathering and just duck the crap out of everything in the parking lot (from what I’ve read the few times I perused the local FB group). The people that you see with a dozen or more ducks on their dash…pretty sure weren’t all one-offs. I got ducked once when my JTR was...
  10. Bumper Repair or Replace?

As said above…stock…FB Marketplace or Craigslist. ~$100 or so. The stock plastic bumper…as a takeoff ($ wise)…is an oversized paperweight. With the amount that I’ve seen listed in the x < $150 range, anyone that’s listed a bumper north of that isn’t REALLY trying to get rid of it. If you want...
  11. Who Wants to Compare Personal Property Taxes? [ADMIN WARNING: NO POLITICS]

Yup. Quite an incentive to hang onto what you’ve got once it starts depreciating. The tax assessors are really something: -When the used car prices went through the roof during the COVID peak, they went right out and reassessed values for taxation purposes. The car I paid $25K for two years...
  12. Who Wants to Compare Personal Property Taxes? [ADMIN WARNING: NO POLITICS]

Yup. That’s about what mine is (also VA rural county). My MSRP was “only” $55K though, lol. Property taxes on homes aren’t bad, but they absolutely gangster your wallet for property tax on anything with a engine that touches the public roadway.
  13. Value of used super charger? Remove before trading in?

Any question is valid. That being said…just make it clear that you’re looking for affirmation, rather than feedback or advice and you’ll get a more desirable response range. Not kidding…along the lines of your post…when my wife asks for my feedback, I ask her flat out if she wants my feedback...
  14. Tire change on interstate

I don’t care if it means destroying a ~$300 wheel. I’d get on the shoulder with the hazards on and run it on the wheel until the shoulder opens up and I can pull WAY off the road. Even then (pulled way off the road), I may wait for a wrecker, depending on the situation.
  15. Value of used super charger? Remove before trading in?

As it doesn’t take away from the trade-in value (per OP)…unless you’re in the position where you’re pinching pennies, I’d just leave it on there and get rid of it as-is.
  16. Anyone ever swap out the 3.6 gasser for the 3.0 diesel?

If I had engine swap money, I’d go the HEMI or LSx route, but you do you. I’d be shocked if you can find too many people that are going to advocate for a 3.0 swap vs. selling your rig and buying one that came that way from the factory. As for what you’ve already got in your rig…that’s a sunk...
  17. Should I buy these? Used Firestone MT2 with wheels off of Willys.

OE take-off wheel and tire sets are a dime a dozen. I’d look for one with less miles.
  18. New Doors by Mammoth Products

Curious to see the reviews on this, but looking at the illustration, this appears to just be a step better than catching driving rain in the face (wide open doors). As you alluded to…nothing about that looks like it’s intended to completely keep the weather out.
  19. Does My New Rubicon Have a 2" Lift?

Yes, per Magnuson-Moss. You’re correct. I’m sure that no one ever had a headache at a dealer because of something they installed though.
