This was taken from a thread on a facebook group. This is a 2020 Gladiator with original everything - has over 200k miles. Not discrediting the OP's bad experience but regular 5k mile oil changes go along long way. By 3000 miles I already had did my 2nd oil change, 6k miles my 3rd
You wouldn't believe how much wranglers go for overseas - gladiators demand a higher premium (where they are sold overseas). They are considered luxury cars/toys for the rich and highly coveted - most of that could just be export tariffs.
After alot of contemplation (and due to lack of available 37s i want), as well as fitment concerns (having to use spacers or get new wheels) i'd like to go with this setup does anyone know if discount tires can get these or only what they have listed on their website ? @Discount Tire
FWIW i put 60k miles on my '19 F-150 with the 2.7 ecoboost - I never had a SINGLE issue. just oil changes (every 3k miles) i always used 93 for fuel. I loved that engine it pulled hard and i could get well over 23mpg on the highway - 25 if i was easy on the right foot.
I'll agree with #2 there is definitely inconsistency. However your speaking about the new Taco's as if - they are Landcruisers - and they are far far from it. The new Taco's have had timing chain issues, oil consumption issues (other engines with the laser welded bores have this issue as well)...
Oh - one last thing - if they built new FJ79 landcruisers here - I would have definitely picked that over anything else on the market. But unfortunately we don't get that stuff here. Just incase. you think i am some myopic fanboy :).
I had a 95 4x4 reg cab (22RE) - one of the best vehicles i've ever owned (or will own). It was incredibly dependable - down on power but man what a truck - there was just about nothing you could do to kill it. The new Taco's are definitely a far cry from that. For example the old truck - it was...
This may have been true in the past. The current ones sure aren't built how they used to. The V6 is especially terrible - electrical issues etc. Dirt Lifestyle has feedback on his channel with his Tacoma - they are most definitely NOT more reliable imo. They are not the 22RE 5VZ or 4.0 trucks of...
Not sure what BMW dealerships you have been to - but i've gotten better treatment at Ford Dealerships than I have BMW. Especially when it comes to the service centers - BMW dealers are notoriously bad to deal with. Mercedes and Lexus are far better experiences imo.
Call me old fashioned but i did my first oil change @ 700 miles (and i thought that was waiting on the longer side). Every other oil change after that has been at 3K miles.
The 392 wrangler also uses gpec5, so I am sure that someone is working on a method to unlock these pcms my understanding is they can read them but havent found a way to unlock them yet
Well i guess the AB revision was probably just a software update :( , i would be willing to buy one and send it off to someone who can help unlock these.
So I was telling my dealer that I wanted to make sure that they have a replacement ECU before i take it in for the recall (on hand - so if they fry it i get a. new one without needing to wait for months) and low and behold while i was googling...
I change mine every 3k miles. I don't care what anyone else says every vehicle i've had has never given me problems (following that interval) - oil and filters are cheap - engine rebuilds/replacements are NOT.
11.2:1 compression and 87 octane - just saying. I know newer engines have more robust knock sensors and other features that help quell detonation - but I am going to stick with 93 here as I have not had nor seen this issue.
