Has anyone seen any Sting Gray JTR toys? Regardless of scale, for the JTR, it seems like there’s every color but SG. I find that odd, considering SG is the best color. ?
For mostly short drives around town (what 99% of my miles are…JTR)…the fuel economy is pretty ghastly (~14.5 MPG), but that’s because most of my time is spent sitting at lights and then mashing on the skinny pedal. There’s no real “cruising” for more than a couple minutes at a time. By the time...
The Gladiator is a lot of fun, but it’s not for everyone.
I had a ‘16 Ram 1500 Bighorn. Nice truck for most situations, but the one plus of the Gladiator over the Ram (from a practicality standpoint) is that it’s a bit smaller….so maneuvering in tight spaces is a bit easier.
On upgrading to a...
Would they though? $45K for my JTR (the MSRP was $55K) would still be asinine for what it is.
It’s an absolute blast, I’m glad I got it, and I see me holding onto it for a while, but even at $10K off, like Wranglers…it’s an overpriced four wheeler/big kid toy.
Buy what you want though OP. My...
Sounds just like me ~6 months ago. Get a Rubicon because it has everything I want and can leave it stock. ?
My two cents…buy what you want. Don’t buy one package or another because you think you can save a buck. If you have “tinkering” tendencies, you’re going to find an excuse to tinker with it.
Yup. Mine isn’t even a year old and I’m already chasing down rust spots.
No major issues though. One tail-light stopped working, but that was easy enough to diagnose and fix (loose ground wire).
You’ll be the envy of everyone at the dump with this bad boy. Current pop-up ad. ?

Same here. That’s the only reason I went new. I didn’t see anything around ~$1,000 that looked like it didn’t belong in a junk yard. Most that appeared to be serviceable were ~$1,500.
I got mine new for ~$1,700. It was a no brainer for me, considering how much I would be using it. I.e. Once the...
That’s the thing…if you’re mechanically inclined or you “know a guy,” your costs drop dramatically. I.e. I installed a BUNCH of mods back in the day for a few beers or a cheap dinner. I’ve known plenty of folks that did the same.
If someone isn’t mechanically inclined and they’re budget...
I’ll be around. Feel free to PM if you’ll be passing through and would like to make arrangements to pick it up.
Edit: Sold. It was good to meet you @Skydrol13. ?
That was #1 on my list. I wanted one of those (built like a brick shit house), but it would have put me over the tongue limit for my previous vehicle.
If the price doesn’t put someone off (the 5’ x 8’ I was looking at was ~$4,000), I’d get that and call it a day.
I’ve got no experience with those two, but I’ve got some relevant feedback. I was initially dead set on a trailer with ~18” sides. I couldn’t locate one that would work due to supply chain issues.
I ended up buying a trailer with a wood deck, ramp, and tube sides and adding my own side boards...
The only way you wont notice the difference (even just going to 315/70-17) is if you’re just not a very observant person.
The negatives…as already stated…are cost and weight. As I alluded to above, it will be a bit more sluggish on acceleration, but it’s not a deal breaker, in my opinion. I...
The best reasons to get a CAI/filter on a stick are: 1. Feels/butt dyno, and 2. Whoosh/sound, which goes back to “feels.”
The amusing thing is that people buy a CAI (in theory can get ~1% better MPG), they like the sound of it, start using the skinny pedal more aggressively, and end up with...
