There are a lot of costs with offering different engine options. One of the larger ones is the crash test requirements. Spread that out over the number of sales and it's not so bad for the Wrangler, but pretty high for the Gladiator.
Jeep has done the evaluations, likely multiple times. If...
From what has been posted here, they are not passing the smog test. They are getting by, for now, due to the length of time between the purchase of a new vehicle and when the first smog test is required. The V8 swap in California is not allowed for the Gladiator under current CARB rules.
The interior outlet is live whenever the engine is running. The button only controls the outlet in the bed. Getting to the plug on the end of the wire to remove the button is not going to be easy. Adding the button requires removing part of the dash.
It's sandwiched in there pretty tight. The net usable space is not really worth the effort to remove the inverter. Disconnecting the plug in the bed and putting 12V power in the space could be useful.
The 'not available' messages are the warning signs that the batteries need replaced. The Main Battery is in worse shape, and the Aux Battery is what kept you going. Replace the Main Battery, and replace or disconnect the Aux Battery.
There is a long thread from a couple years ago started by a member who did a flush that killed the transmission.
The official line from Jeep is that it is a lifetime fill and does not need changed, under normal operating conditions.
I would not consider it until about 75k miles, unless it...
Disconnect the Aux Battery Negative cable. Separately charge each battery. Reconnect the cable and see what it does. I'm guessing issues from the dealer installing batteries that were not fully charged. It could be something else. Having the batteries charged will help things along if you...
I have the 8.4 Uconnect with the factory NAV. I used it a lot when I got my first Gladiator back in 2019, and even paid for a Map Update in 2021. Eventually, I discovered that Android Auto, a USB cable, and Google Maps worked much better. The factory NAV is a good backup in areas with no...
They can refuse warranty coverage for electrical issues, but voiding warranties is not a common occurrence.
If the Aux Battery fails in a state that is causing a drain of the Main Battery, and you don't want to replace it, then disconnect it. Otherwise, just leave it connected.
The synthetic oil is good for up to 1 year or 10k miles. I did the first change at 3k miles, then followed the oil life monitor down to 1% for the two free changes.
11.8 volts is in the barely functioning zone. Fully charged with no load should be 12.8 volts. The average lifespan of batteries in the JT is about three years. Most batteries come with a three year warranty. How easy it is to get it replaced under warranty depends on where you buy it. The...
Does it show a factory installed Towing Package in the listing?
The wiring harness is installed on every Gladiator.
The 240 amp alternator is installed with various packages.
The Heavy Duty Cooling option would seem to indicate 6000lb towing capacity. Prior to the '24 MY, the Factory...
ESS is always active. It cannot be removed or disabled. All you can do is prevent it from turning the engine off when ESS calls for it (which you have been doing by pressing the dash button).
All the dealer will do is offer to replace the batteries for you.
If you don't want to replace...
The dealer won't do anything unless you can replicate the problem for them.
Plug it in. There should be a USB port inside the center console, with a notch to bring the cable out the side.
According to Jeep, the transmission contains a 'lifetime' fill and does not changed under normal operating conditions.
There are several threads from those that have changed their fluid.
