Awesome install!!! And great price points for things and great practicality. I have been dreaming of onboard water. Its the thing I miss most of my RV. But with winter its hard to do something permanent so has to be semi modular.
This is slick. Thanks for sharing.
I also had a roll of neoprene rubber I cut up and added to the feet and contact points so it won’t marr or scratch the plastic rails or paint underneath. Cheap and easy to do.
It’s rated for 800lbs or so. And it’s about 4-6” over cab height. Its quite solid. Once it’s adjusted, to remove its basically it’s taking the 8 J hooks off. Probably could put wing nuts or something on it to make it easier.
Found it. This one is the same as I got.

Oh shucks!
Well I paid about $225 I believe. They had a few vendors all with similar racks at this $250 price point.
This is the better one than the one I got. They have accessories like a rear headache rack. As well as a roof overhang. I had my eye on this one as it seemed to be the better...
I picked this one up from Amazon

Powder coated Aluminum. And flat top bars are good for things like the roof top tent.
This one I got is fixed height, but thanks to the gladiator having low bed rails compared to...
So this was on my Colorado, but the same core setup i have going on my Gladiator.
8min from pulled up to ready to sleep, eat etc. This time was the first time I actually used it on the road and was puffing a doobie the whole time.
The tent was $900 shipped
Rack is universal ladder rack for...
Shhh. Gotta reel em in gently to the mod bug!
Really though its gonna be
Shocks - Keep the wheels planted
Bump stops - If you don’t go long travel, bump stops will keep things from banging.
Tire pressure - make it easy to air up and down as tire flex improves ride and traction
Swaybar...
Get yourself a set of Fox takeoff shocks from a rubicon and some Terraflex progressive bump stops. Then for good measure, a swaybar quick disconnect. All up should be under $500 and a world of difference.
I thought ESS was going to be weird with a stick, but gotta say because you can control it with how you operate the clutch at stop its not irritating at all.
If you come to a stop in neutral with the clutch depressed, ESS won’t trigger and idles normally. If you come to a stop in neutral with...
I think if you get the rubi and the manual you will be completely comfortable. That 4:1 transfer case is a beast. And for me, wheelin a stick seems a good skill to get good at. I’d rather suck a bit and burn a few miles of the clutch in smoke to learn and get good at something than make an...
Following!!
I’m planning on a excursion out there over thanksgiving break and wheelin over the break. Right now finns and things is definitely on the list and earn a badge of honor there.
I do plan on bringing my dog along for the trip, so trails off the national parks (they don’t allow dogs...
I will agree that an intake and exhaust really complete the truck. There’s a lot of powerband to use, so adds a lot of theater and feedback to drive the stick. There’s otherwise not a lot of feel in the clutch or linkage, which really is a good thing for daily comfort, but using the powertrain...
I went all in to get a base sport. I had 2 on lots that were essential spec for me. Manual, Hard top, tow bar and LSD. 35k.
But at the end, the Gator Sport I wanted was sold underme, and the white was ruined in transit.
I thought about getting more things but ultimately I wanted to spend a...
Just adding that the manual is awesome. Ive not had a lot of wheeling time with it, but as a daily, its smooth and slick shifting. The wide spaced gears just make it for a comfortable and lazy shift when running around town.
6th is almost useless unless almost dead flat. But whatever. Its a...
Oh man! There’s some awesome stuff here!
My garage is my favorite spot. It’s not the biggest, but at half the size of my home, it’s pretty decent compared! I too can’t wait till i can upgrade to a pole barn, the living area just an RV parked inside! LOL
I’ve been working on it for the past 5...
Woot!! Glad they have em. I must have missed em as that was one of the first mods I was trying for. 2000 miles and got chips all over the door hinges and such. Ordered!
For towing or hauling it would be of benefit especially if you carry a heavy load. As those are times you notice the bump stops. For the money, it was worth it if you ever hit your bump stop at least occasionally. The rears are super easy as they are in the open. The fronts, should also be able...
Got my ladder rack up and ready for the tent.
Universal Aluminum rack. Modified the ladder holders to mount underside the wings.
Also had some neoprene rubber seal that i had from other projects (Always buy more than you need!) that I went and rubberized all the mounting surfaces. I also cut...
