In NM our excess production is banked so in the summers with AC our electric bill remains free. We've had solar for about 5 years and 85% is already paid off.
Yeah, that pretty well describes my 73 CJ-5 with the 258 (I want it back!). I changed oil about every 7500. That was in the 70s. By the way, the 73 CJ cost $3400 new in 73.
Yeah, I put a Crower in my 70 Chevy Nova SS's 327. What a screamer and at idle and low speed the cam lope rattled windows, and people called the cops. I miss those days sometimes.
I had a 2022 JTR MT and traded it for a 2024 JTR AT when Jeep kept refusing to fix that clutch. The 2024 JTR is my first AT 4X4 and I'm quite happy with it to my surprise.
Yes, I'm very much happier with the 2024. While I only have about 10,000 miles on it, I found that even though I've never had an AT 4X4, I actually like it. I'm over pushing an imaginary clutch at stops, so that's a good thing. I've used it on a number of trails that I did with the MT...
Yeah, in the 60s one of my first jobs was at a "Standard" station (before it became Chevron), pumping gas, washing windshields, always checking the oil, cleaning the toilets... But they had paper in the bathrooms back then. Why in the hell our uniforms were white is beyond me. They never came...
Ok, you're right, patience in that regard can save you money. I never buy a new version of a vehicle (i.e. 2020 JTR) until it's been out for a few years. That definitely worked for my 2024 JTR.
