  1. 6.4L V8 Hemi (392) possibly "real world" testing for future Gladiator model

There is a huge difference in speculating on paper and driving in person. It has nothing to do with a sports car, that’s laughable. It is all about power to match the frame, towing, torque management and road manners. Yes, it is expensive to make the conversion and operate given the best mpg...
  2. 6.4L V8 Hemi (392) possibly "real world" testing for future Gladiator model

Rubitrux in Boone, NC. Yes, I tow in fact I’ll be towing my ā€˜64 Corvette from Atlanta to NY in a few weeks.
  3. 6.4L V8 Hemi (392) possibly "real world" testing for future Gladiator model

Many hydroelectric dams in effect store water as energy. They use a dual reservoir system where the upper reservoir is potential energy that flows through the turbines during the day generating electricity during high demand and high kilowatt rate periods Into the lower reservoir. At night when...
  4. 6.4L V8 Hemi (392) possibly "real world" testing for future Gladiator model

The challenge is to consider the entire lifecycle of the chosen power source and its impact on the environment. The current environmental impact created by electric vehicles is being ignored as the market share is so small. The reality is that currently the combined impact of mining silicon...
  5. Remote a power inverter using the factory AUX switch?

If you use an 18ga wire, there is a high probability you will. I would not be wiring an inverter if all you want to do is charge devices. Each conversion cycle erodes efficiency significantly. All devices charge batteries using DC and an inverter converts DC to AC and then the device charger...
  6. 6.4L V8 Hemi (392) possibly "real world" testing for future Gladiator model

I have about 5,000 miles on my 6.4L hemi powered JTR, including several long trips. in my opinion, this chassis was made for this Powertrain (yep, includes an 8spd ZF tranny). Fast, smooth and will go anywhere. Jeep would be foolish not to go ahead with this option, but their average fleet...
  7. So here's what concerns me!

Hand gun action is mechanical. Blue Lives Matter.
  8. Wench

No problem mounting a winch and brush bar, which is important as it gives the wench something to hold onto when driving.
  9. So here's what concerns me!

Loosing sleep...just what the AI wants. Gone are the days when we kept a matchbook in the glovebox to both spark doobies and set the points gap when the car died. I miss those days.
  10. Axle off center with 2" Mopar lift kit?

Wow, you guys crack me up! The way you determine how far off it is, is to measure both sides and subtract them from each other. In the 1/2ā€ example above, 1/2ā€ minus -1/2ā€ equals one inch. Move the axle half that and it is centered. That was 1/2ā€. Donā€˜t make it more complicated than it needs...
  11. Anyone running 37’s?

4.10s work perfectly for me, but as pointed out in another thread, I cheated. I have a 6.4L hemi and ZF 8spd.
  12. Anyone running 37’s?

I’m in Atlanta and you are welcome to stop by.
  13. Missing bolt

Let’s be clear on terminology here. That is not a self-tapping bolt. It is a self-centering bolt that allows the use of a power driver without hand threading the first few threads with almost zero risk of cross threading.
  14. Missing bolt

Flange head bolts are industry standard today as is thread locker vs. any kind of lock washer.
  15. Missing bolt

Wow, I just looked at your picture. I have the bolt on the right which is correct for my Jeep. Strange.
  16. Missing bolt

Use some red locktite. No more problems.
  17. Missing bolt

The same thing happened to me on the rear passenger side. I have no idea how long I drove with it that way, but one day pre-COVID, I walked out of the gym and noticed the link hanging loose. I had a whole box of bolts from a used 2012 Camaro LS engine/tranny pallet I bought for My 1987 LR...
  18. What did you do WITH your Gladiator today?

Thanks, Bob, I’m from the south, but it was over my head!
  19. What did you do WITH your Gladiator today?

Drove it up to the shop in Roswell hauling some junk the wife wanted me to put in the dumpster. Made a fiberglass mold on the front fender extension plug I made on the ā€˜64 Corvette and then did 90 down rt. 400 south and saw a sweet gobi Gladiator all decked out with a lift, wheels, snorkel and...
