This happened to anyone? Missing bolt in my rear sway bar link. Not broke just appears to have come loose. Is it ok to drive without it? I’ve already ordered a replacement.

Hope the replacement is being paid for by the dealership.

Stop by a hardware store and get a bolt. If that link flips down, if could get damaged. If you aren’t near a hardware store, I would take the link off until you can get a bolt.

They are manufactured with the “crack” at the bottom. That is a round nutsert which is formed into the bracket. I have no clue why they didn’t just weld a nut on the back. I’ve already ripped one of mine out...

I didn’t want to get the dealer involved. It was a $6.00 fix. More of a hassle to take it to the dealership. The top does have a welded nut. Bottom is not.

Shouldn't Jeep be aware that there are issues with quality control?

I concur - I'd not want to risk that thing getting tangled into the bracket or flipping somewhere it doesn't belong and messing things up.
At least put a hardware store bolt in for now.

I also have a JL. Just parked the JT until the bolt comes in. Don’t want to risk messing anything up.

Mine flipped forward onto the bump stop pad, then somehow pried my bump stop out when flexed. I didn’t realize it and lost it on the trail...

Update: I CANNOT find a replacement bolt for this. The dealership has given me what they say is the correct bolt but it doesn’t work. The Mopar website/diagram isn’t correct and doesn’t match what’s actually on the vehicle. Anyone know where to get one? The bolt to the left is the correct one and the one on the right is what my dealer claims is the replacement. Not the same.

There’s nothing really special about that bolt. I’ve actually used a couple of different ones depending on which sway bar links I was testing (I’m on my 4th different length).

I’m to the point now where I’m about ready to drill the threads out and put a bolt and nut on it

The same thing happened to me on the rear passenger side. I have no idea how long I drove with it that way, but one day pre-COVID, I walked out of the gym and noticed the link hanging loose. I had a whole box of bolts from a used 2012 Camaro LS engine/tranny pallet I bought for My 1987 LR Defender and I found the exact same bolt in that box. Same right down to the finish. I have a couple more and can send you one when I’m at the shop later this week if you can wait. Let me know.
