Seat slammers!! Oh geez, world of a difference. I am extremely happy with this mod. Makes the gladi super comfortable.
Im 6'4", 285 ish, and went full 2" drop. Its fantastic. Wish i did it first, but tried the 1.25" seat jackers first. Which helped, but nothing like this.
Kinda disappointed in the wiring connectors. Very cheap, and unsealed. One of the locking tabs is damaged. These things are going to rot out after a winter or two. I plan on packing them with Dielectric grease and heat shrinking the backs to keep the grease in.
Slapped in the Amazon Aluminum visor reinforcement brackets.
I wish they were side specific, makes install awkward on one side.
I did a lil' blue loctite on the threads
Seat slammer! The big kit!
@DesertDoesIt had some swag, a swedish fish, and excellent packaging.
Exchanging my big Seat jackers to the slammer.
Very happy to buy from them. Its the american small business model that I always prefer to support.
Thank you Desertdoesit!!!
Of course! They are factory loctited, I was going to heat for sure. Maybe even buy an induction heater finally so I dont have to run a torch, lmfao
I do a lot of wrenching, lot of torquing, compounds, fluids, familiar with it all so I stick with best practices. Heat to break up the...
Much to update, hopefully I can get it sorted later today.
Just wanted to drop in and say, after a conversation with @N83 and having him hop in my Gladiator with the big seat jackers, he confirmed that slammers is the only way to go for us tall people, lol!!
So I just bought them...
Lol, yeah people have voiced their troubles with the body bolts. Im not jumping in this, I'm going to do plenty of research, and buy whatever things that will make the job smoother. I keep thinking torx IP fasteners, which I need to double check. I read a lot on here, sometimes things get...
Drove down to Baltimore area, met up with @N83 (great guy!) and bought these angle up rock rails!! Hauled them back home. Just gotta paint, add traction, and install!
Those nuts may just be a crimp style mechanical locking nut. If its round on the flange side and gets oval on the opposite side in a kinda taper, then its a locking fastener.
I'm most likely going this route, AEV. So Im reading up, lol
I did not have any issues with my Arcus and Badlands. I ran the positive out the side, and the winch touches the grill, I just put a bit of ppf there.
Got 2 recoveries with it on my first time out! Lmao !
Winched them right out, no probs. Second vehicle is a JTR, lmao
