  1. What if.... I don't?

I hit 90 on the interstate today with these 37" Firestone MT2's, and you probably couldn't pay me to do it again. All four corners screaming like a full-throttle 747 during takeoff. Think my old-man ass will stick to rowing gears at twisty mountain road speeds from now on, thank you very much.

  3. Any opinions on the OpenRoad topper?

There are a lot of dropship-type sites that provide overland/offroad stuff these days. I am not necessarily saying they are all rip-offs, or that the products themselves are garbage, just that you have options. For you, maybe it's worth the extra cost to use one of those middle-man sites...
  4. Any opinions on the OpenRoad topper?

Just buy it directly from the source............... https://www.alibaba.com/product-detail/Pickup-Truck-Bed-Tonneau-Cover-Camper_1601263545989.html
  5. What if.... I don't?

I have the manual with 4.10s, so maybe not the best comparison.....but recently found a great deal on 37's and temporarily mounted them in place of the 35's I normally run. Other than the obvious difference in road noise from these mud terrains vs the normal all terrains, I'd be lying if I...
  6. 4xe Gladiator Dead according to sources

In fairness, Toyota is already laughing all the way to the bank given the sales numbers of the Tacoma vs literally every other midsize truck.
  7. How can I tell if my Gladiator has a programmer?

When you say the truck "has the start/stop disabled."........how are you determining this? If you have error messages or check engine lights telling you there is a malfunction with that system, it may be something other than one of the various methods people use to eliminate the ESS. As far as...
  8. Off Road Plus Noisy

Did you also feel this in the pedal? That would seem to be a bigger issue, if so.
  9. Off Road Plus Noisy

No unexpected noises here. I wish I could engage Offroad + and enjoy improved throttle response at will. It would be handy on forest service roads in the manual. As far as I know, the changes made by Offroad + are purely software related.......are you sure the "noise" you are hearing isn't just...
  10. Main vs Aux battery replacement question on 2021 JT

I think the idea is that if you are seeing those on the dash it would indicate the truck is attempting to charge the battery (or batteries) all the time. It would not be doing this if the truck thought they were already fully charged,
  11. high pitched noise from Radio

Not heard of this, and I also dont know if the newer headunits are different in a way that would make them fail in this way....but I think the first thing I would check would be the electric power steering pump. You may just be mistaking it for a sound coming from the speakers.
  12. 2026 Jeep JT Hybrid

If they had offered the diesel with the manual, that would have been my purchase this go around. Alas, my love for rowing gears won that battle. I may be in the minority, but I hope they continue to expand on drivetrain options, offer them at reasonable prices, and then just leave the rest of...
  13. 2026 Jeep JT Hybrid

The bit about "reinvesting funding to continue the long-term growth of the Jeep Gladiator" is nice to see. I definitely like the truck enough to buy another if they iterate sensibly.
  14. CEL p300 code

I agree, although I am gonna give the benefit of the doubt to the OP and assume they may have fat-fingered a 9 since it's dangerously close to 0 on most keyboards.
  15. Great Deal on Pennzoil Ultra Platinum Full Synthetic 0W-20 79.33 5Qt 3 Pack @ walmart

That Amazon price does seem to be a bit lower than the historical average. But it also appears to have been at the current price for the last year or so. See here for more info.... https://camelcamelcamel.com/product/B01M2YTZSG
  16. Closeout sale on 37” Firestone Destination M/T2

Had to make a quick jaunt up to Damascus earlier from Knoxville. Decided to take the truck while the tires were still on it. Since I knew I would be mostly on pavement, I went ahead and knocked out a chalk test and set the PSI properly. I ended up down in the mid/high 20s before I decided they...
  17. Do I need to re-gear?

No doubt. Adjustments for speedo, MPG, and now shift points (as pointed out above) make total sense. I was just curious if someone had evidence that that change also affected more performance-oriented things that would affect how the truck feels to drive.
  18. Closeout sale on 37” Firestone Destination M/T2

You guys inspired me. While out in the shop earlier they kept staring at me (AKA they were stacked directly in the way of some other shit I needed to do) so I decided to mount them to this truck after all, maybe just temporarily, who knows. I do have to say, they do sit nicely on the set of OEM...
  19. Do I need to re-gear?

Good to know. The current truck is of the manual variety, so those shift points are purely up to my discretion, lol. Probably why I never noticed it. I feel like in the previous two auto trucks, I never noticed much of a difference either way. I was definitely guilty of never adjusting for tire...
  20. Do I need to re-gear?

Not to derail the thread......but is this actually true? As in, does the tire size that's set in the PCM affect things OTHER than the MPG calculations? And if so, what are they? Logically, it seems like it would, but I am not sure that isn't just wishful thinking. Now that I think about it...I...
