If I added one this would be the route I would go. OX or Eaton E locker rear only.
Looks like it won’t be during the gear work however. I’m going to put the money into other items and decide down the line if I think I need one.
Im going to use this logic. Even if it’s much cheaper while they are already in there, it’s still substantial cost. $1200+ can go to a lot of other items on my list.
This brings up another point. When I used to be an installer (Long time ago) we would always run the power on the opposite side of the vehicle as the RCAs.
I have the core as well and they are RUGGED. Only issue people have is greasing the joints. I own a tractor so am no stranger to a grease gun so just hit one when I hit the other on occasion.
I’m a little behind on YouTube. My newest “pro tip” is playback speed. I change it to maybe 1.5-1.75. Strange at first but I get used to it. I then play normal when I don’t want to miss what they are saying or I’m calling instructions.
1.75 etc is great for the “should you regear” or “should...
This has been good info. Based on the build sheet and info here I’m certain I’m just a regular open diff.
Will now need to see if the extra $1200 is worth it for a rear locker. If I wheeled with this truck it’s a no brainer. Or even if I thought I may find myself in a situation where it could...
This. Whine is almost always related to a ground loop. Make sure your grounds are very solid and use the same point for as many grounds in your system as possible.
Was in this exact scenario 3 weeks ago (minus me selling my jeep.) She did the only logical thing after bailing on the Bronco. Ordered a MY22 Wrangler 4 door.
As the Detroit gods intended!
For my case, to clarify. This is mostly just walking about living in a snowy climate with my daily driver. Not necessarily having the ability to wheel through snow covered trails/dirt roads.
I may have to throw the jack under it to confirm. Looks like no however.
it does list- Command-Trac, but a search doesn’t turn up limited slip anywhere. Just the “conventional” front and rear.
To your other point. As my daily driver in New England. Snow handling and slick roads is my number...
This should be a fairly short thread, but specific to my truck so search can’t help.
First appointment for re gear is not till January 25 so I’ve got time..
3.6 auto overland getting 4.88. The question is lockers. I had no intention to do lockers and can’t foresee a scenario I’d ever use them...
Doing what mine does a lot of, hanging out in my driveway with me. Also featured in background is my second baby, my 900 sq feet heated detached work shop
Was thinking about that. We all know the proper body shop way but…
Maybe get in behind from the access panel and tape over them with aluminum tape. On the front side, a dab of bondo in each hole. Then tape all around it over your paint exposing only the hole to protect your paint from sanding...
