There’s a difference between “maintains OEM” and “within tolerances.”
While I was within tolerances, I chose to maintain OEM. This was through track bars, control arms and sway bar end links. You could leave out rear upper arms and track bars. If you never plan to wheel you’d likely get by just...
While I’m pulling it in favor of Clayton springs…
The AEV kit is awesome. All very top notch stuff with everything you’d need. Use the shock brackets, or don’t with better longer shocks (Bilstein 5100 are a good deal.)
Sway bar links are not a necessity, but great they are included. Add the...
Ive also been eyeing this. I wish there would be a competitor though as that price is very steep for what it is. I also plan to get a sunrider so the clear one would likely only be on in the cool/cold northeast months.
Why drill? There is a rubber grommet as you are on the engine side looking at the firewall. It’s about 3/4 in diameter and maybe a few inches off the fender side and maybe 12” down. Behind that is that thick rubber you are already seeing and some insulation. Use a nail (or punch) or something...
Did you do the vents too? Was going to until I saw they were attached from the back. Looked like you needed to pull most of the dash off to accomplish.
Is that this one?

Bed mattress or home?
Home: avocado mattress is the best I’ve ever owned. Highest rated by consumer reports. My king size won’t fit in the gladiator though.
I’ve considered this route as well. Unfortunately (fortunately?) ive had good luck selling my OEM stuff. Id have to work out a deal to swap most of the stuff with the new one. $1000+ in lift and control arms etc plus wheels for certain I’d want.
Nice, thanks for the input.
I’ll toss around the idea of pulling the rear spacers and going Clayton springs also. I’ll throw this stuff up on the classifieds. The plus side is that it’s all mostly small so will drop into a flat rate box.
Bought AEV spacer kit and changed things up after 600 miles. Pulled the front spacers and went with 2.5” Clayton springs. Also pulled all 4 shock extensions in favor of longer shocks. I am still using the sway bar links and bump stops as well as rear spacer.
What I’m not using: 2” front spacers...
TL:DR. ITS PAINLESS AND BORDERLINE FOOLPROOF. DIY
We see this all the time. I paid $475 to have an AEV spacer lift installed. Ended up getting 4 new longer shocks and Clayton springs and made an appointment 4 weeks out.
Got impatient and 25 YouTube videos later
I decided to do it myself. Now...
I have it and it’s been great. Customer support is top notch. Wanted to do the front cargo camera and they emailed me back on a Sunday night and said they would add the feature for me. Told me next time I logged into the app it would be active. I was fortunate and reached out to them and...
