Got these in the mail. Got lucky and they are fine. With all the negative feedback about his packaging I can’t for the life of me get why he hasn’t made a change. It would be so simple to protect them. He could roll them end over end in bubble wrap and add a letter each roll.
Build your own lift. Clayton 3.5 inch springs, shocks of your choice, upper rear control arms and Mopar lower front control arms. Track bar in the front and same in rear or the teraflex bracket.
This won’t cost all that much and will be a very nice lift. I went that route with core 4x4 arms...
Are you an auto or manual? You will also lose 8th gear on the freeway, and likely never see 7th anymore. If you go over an overpass it will downshift to 5th to make it up the “hill.”
Reference: I’m on 3.73 and 35’s so 37s would only be worse.
So- definitely do it because 37s look awesome. I...
@bleda2002 thanks for the heads up. Was able to find one and take it for a ride. Not the trim we would want, but that’s not what we were looking at anyway. She’s now leaning that way.
I went with Bilstein. Only because the conversation I had said more road riding would be a good choice for that setup. As you get towards more off road than fox is the better call.
Towed for the first time with it. Just a extremely non aero landscape trailer 150 miles highway round trip to pick up a treadmill. Holy hell was it awful on 3.73. Getting on the freeway it would want to sit around 4/5th gear and just absolutely wind at 4000+ RPMS with no sign of shifting in...
All great stuff. She’s leaning towards a willys (4xe would be my choice but she doesn’t see the value (for her))
Wants the willys for the look. I told her she’s going about it all wrong. She needs to buy the sport S and then allow me to dump too much money into it making it look like a meaner...
So… test drove it and she’s a no. She said it’s nice, but nothing about it says jeep or feels special. Said take away the outside shell and it’s any other SUV out there. Ordering a wrangler… which is what I’d prefer anyway.
Agree with all your thoughts as well. The grand Cherokee isn’t exactly “fun” but it’s a lot more fun than a Yukon XL. We are headed over in a few hours for some test driving.
Thanks for the thoughts so far, sounds like it’s an encouraging option.
This is along the lines of our thoughts. She loves the comfort and amenities that the van provides, but doesn’t want or need to be a mini van mom. She also doesn’t want a more standard mom ride like the Tahoe or Q5.
The things that make a wrangler so fun, will be the things that annoy her as...
That’s good to hear, thank you. Looks like they redid the regular grand Cherokee for 2022 nice since the L was new for 2021 it won’t change. I’m pulling for a wrangler but we already have my truck so it’s a little redundant.
Wrong site, I know….
Since getting my JT my wife has realized that her minivan is woefully inadequate. Test drove a bronco that I was pulling for but she was generally disappointed and not on board at all.
She wants the new 4 door wrangler (kids 7,11) but is worried that long term the jeep...
Same. This is another one of those scary projects that seems to take forever and a lot of care. Seeing as most places want over a grand it’s a reasonable skill to learn.
