  1. AUX Switches - Multiple Lights

You may also need to consider adding fuses if you parallel them together on 1 or 2. The 15a circuits would protect you by default, but if you go up to the bigger circuit, you would want to add fuses for each branch to protect the wire runs.
  2. Do we really need a spare tire?

Thanks for serving our country and putting your life on the line for freedom. If you ever make it out west I'd love to hit Death Valley with you and get your take on how it compares. I'll buy you dinner for sure. I would recommend a spare for that trip ;). I think we all struggle with what we...
  3. Lighting

    What lights are they?
  4. So far, how many states has your Gladiator been?

I just closed out the 11 western states with Washington and Oregon. No real desire to go further east. It's not that there is anything wrong with the East but I have seen it and there is so much to do out here still.
  5. Do we really need a spare tire?

I think we missed an opportunity to turn the entirety of Afghanistan into a big off-road desert resort. Every time I see pix of that place, it looks awesome. I would love to wheel there. Get all those guys to stop fighting over poppies and goat fields and set up some guide services. Its a shame...
  6. Do we really need a spare tire?

In 30 years of wheeling all over the West, I have used my spare five times that I can think of. Of those, maybe only one would have been a trick to repair if I had been motivated. The rest, a simple plug could or did fix them to get me going. The one was on Fordyce trail and it opened that BFG...
  7. 3rd shock over rear axle

Soprt S, diesel w/ Auto. No "5th shock" or damper I do get wheel hop off-road sometimes, like in deep snow or sand. I have a bed topper and generally a RTT on, as well as a fridge and a bunch of camping gear most of the time. On pavement, I have never had an issue with wheel hop. I'd love to...
  8. Whip lights?

I need to mount a flag for dune trip coming up. I need to figure that out.
  9. Overheating Off Road?

Ya sounds like something is off. Were you looking at the actual temp or the digital "gauge" on the left side of the screen? That "gauge" does not seem to have any correlation to engine temp on my truck. It always reads a tick below center where my actual temp from the menus does fluctuate a good...
  10. Cruise control problems

My ACC works a treat... one of the many things I love about this truck. It can get a bit confused on rare occasions... construction zones, etcetera, and this just reminds me that the machines are not all that close to taking over driving from us meat bags.
  11. Here is what I did about my diesel bottoming out.

  12. Gladiator 2020 Towing 6500 pound RV trailer?

I am interested in how you feel about it after a year. Looks like a great trailer. It is as big or maybe a bit bigger than I would consider towing on a regular basis. I'd love to hear how it goes for you.
  13. Aux batt system - Where to tap into the jeep?

I was just teasing you but ya... 300 would be a lot of juice. A resettable bushman style breaker like this https://www.delcity.net/catalogdetails?item=76935 would be my next step up I think.
  14. Aux batt system - Where to tap into the jeep?

300 AMPS! ? If I have any problems with this https://powerwerx.com/maxi-inline-fuse-holder-8-gauge-red I'll have to go with one that does not have soft plastic. I guess I'm going to give it one more chance. It's installed now.
  15. Aux batt system - Where to tap into the jeep?

I pulled the old wire out last night and it is about 14ft long. According to the manual that is too long to be 10AWG and I should have used at least 8AWG, but it still does not really explain the fuse holder melting. The wire is Bonded "zip cord" from powerwerx. They charge enough that I assume...
  16. Aux batt system - Where to tap into the jeep?

Update After working fine all summer and for the last 8-10 months, the inline fuse holder I used at the battery has melted. This is the diesel, so the turbo and exhaust stuff is near the battery in that corner of the engine compartment. My best guess is that extra heat explains the melting. I...
  17. Programming GMRS

With GMRS (and other FM bands) you need to pay attention to wide and narrow in your programming. If one station/radio is wide and the other is narrow you will not have good reception because the other station is effectively filtering out some of your signals. As I recall, some GMRS channels are...
  18. Death wobble (shudder) survivor...not all heroes wear capes

Check your joints. There are six of them. Both ends of the pan hard bar, Both ends of the drag link, and both ends of the tie rod. Have your lovely assistant (an ugly one will do in a pinch) move the steering wheel back and forth a few inches as you put fingers across the moving part of the...
  19. TPS Where To Buy Advice……

Seems like you are coming in a little hot there Pops. I would not say I refused to buy decent parts. I was upgrading my steel wheel to a matched Mopar wheel and new tiers all around so I could do a five-tire rotation and have a sensor when I put the spare on. It was just part of the package to...
