I put air springs in to handle extra weight and they are really effective. Low cost easy to install and adjustable for any load.

I had it some under similar conditions but it was manageable. More or less throttle always seemed to find a spot that worked. I was a bit surprised because I always figured it was a property of leaf spring suspension.

I assume you are talking about a Viton O ring that would not be prone to swelling with contact with fuel oil. Do you have a McMaster part number of what you used?
