I'll probably get the gray OVS, then in 18 months they'll have a tan/brown one, i'll sell the gray one for like $500 off, and then have way more into my awning setup than I wanted.......such is life!
Just got an email on this. Looks like it could be useful for some. I might get just the tailgate liner.

The OVS is cool, but I wish it wasn't gray. I wanted tan, green, brown, something "earthy". And I think ovs use to be in green, so chances are it won't be green again for some time.
The D stands for denier, the g or GSM is for grams per square meter of material. I would be shocked too, but it seems like the Alu-Cab may be thin in material. That has advantages and disadvantages of course.
Well my loss is your gain. I should have bought an Alu-Cab from the getgo, but $1500 new, woof.
This awning is basically brand new. Only used for 2 days. Works well, but must use the poles to support awning. NEW $757.92 from Amazon, not prime eligible.
$597 shipped.
i'll have to setup my pvc poles again, i don't think the RLD provides enough coverage around the rear of the vehicle.
Is the OVS the same one that the forum moderator had with his Tacoma Alu-Cab? I don't think he's posted in a while and can't remember his name.
This galley looks quite...
got my awning installed today, made a thread about it in case you were curious.

I bought a Rhino Rack Batwing last summer, but didn't have a rack or topper to use it on my JT. I recently got my Alu-Cab installed and thought i would do a comparison with the size of the Alu-Cab.
First I started a google sheet on it, anybody can view, can't edit.
And I made a little...
I'm wondering if hothead headliners are just a cut sheet of hardboard with a radiant heat barrier adhesive backed like you discussed, then wrapped with a small amount of padding and fabric?
Considering this is in the back of my truck, i should just tackle this one on my own.
Cut some hardboard...
i still have a bunch of that cardboard.
What do you mean sheetmetal airspace? like if there was a cargo basket ontop of the alu-cab?
That is a good point. if I put an RTT on top of the alu-cab, i bet the alu-cab will be cooler and rtt hot.
I just had an awesome and probably expensive and stupid idea.
EDIT: Not probably, more like certainly.
Wonder if hothead headliners would make un-fabric'ed panels for the Alu-Cab to cut down on the heat issue,
They would go between the roof rails
and then I could just have them...
