Probably not. I didn't replace mine when I put in my lift from Icon. I don't notice any bow with my springs. I also haven't put a straight edge to them to see.
That's the first thing you do with a new car.
That's what my dad did with his new cars back in the 60s. Take it out to some dead street and flog the s**t out of it. If it was going to break, it would have done it then. Man, simpler cars, simpler times.
Did they have warranties back...
So you'll be there during the Labor Day Jeep Safari? Don't forget your GMRS radio. ;)
I have the Icon 2.5" lift with 37" tires. You will hit in a couple spots, we did. It could have been a wrong line, rush through the obstacle, or just the nature of the JT with its rear overhang. I haven't...
Yeah, I did notice that some sections of the trail were dramatically widened because someone has to sway back and forth across the trail. For that to be noticed by a newbie, that's pretty disappointing in the ORV/OHV community.
[Generalization] I don't mind going fast, I rather enjoy it. But...
Wait, you guys are breaking in cams?
I fired mine up, let it idle for a few, then just warmed it up, holding it at ~2500 a few times. Then a handful of short drives (5-15min), and two 30-40min drives on mixed surface streets and highways.
I just ran the numbers - Cam and rockers...
Or wave at Subarus. Halfway through F&T, after being passed by 3-4 SxS, I said to my wife, "I waiting to see the stock Subaru Crosstrek at any moment."
I've seen an uptick in waves. When we first moved here, few people waved. Usually a built jeep would do it. Over in the Moab area, hardly anyone waves - you'd be waving all day because of all the rentals. So I think most won't wave around there, unless you're on a trail.
Think I might just...
Oof.
The struggle is real. It's amazing you had so much problem with it/them.
I have been happy with mine for 3 years... the 4th is being a bummer. It started to pick up more buffeting noise with crosswinds, like when a semi passes. It's loud and annoying. This year it seems louder, but it's...
You can easily adjust the drag link to correct the steering wheel change. That may also help a little with the play, but you can change the lash of the steering box to tighten up the steering. YouTube have videos on the subject.
Just before sunrise, sitting at the I-70 on ramp at Floy.
So, as everyone else has said before - the angles are never truly conveyed in pictures.
I tried to monitor the steepness of some obstacles. Some I went up too quick for the computer to display. A couple times we were 30+ degrees of...
Yesterday I popped the question to the Mrs. - Wanna get up early and head over to Moab in the JT and maybe do a couple of trails?
Game. Set. Match.
Got up at 3am and got to Moab at about 7:30; had to stop and get pictures of the sunrise.
We did (as the title says) Fins & Things for our...
You're measuring pinion angle rather than caster. I don't know if JT's have equal caster and pinion angles. Obviously they're tied together since it's solid axle.
A local tire shop alignment isn't very expensive.
Or you can do it at home. Put the axles on jack stands, remove the wheels...
Right.
Just to be clear, I meant the typical Jeep tick you may or may not hear it, depending on your rig setup.
When the valvetrain starts to blow up, I agree, you can't mistake the issue.
It takes a brave man to say that outloud.
Definition of Vehicle Payload
Payload refers to the maximum weight a vehicle can safely carry. This includes the weight of passengers, cargo, and any additional equipment. It is a crucial safety limit, as exceeding this weight can lead to mechanical...
You'll know it when it happens. The sound you're hearing is common, and depending on where/how you're driving, you may or may not notice it.
I have a Sunrider top that's usually open, and doesn't offer much sound deadening when closed, so I've always heard the ticking sound.
Last summer...
To answer OP question - nope.
Quick search shows the JT is roughly a 53/47% split, front/rear. That's only a 150# difference.
So you'll be adding 950# in the bed, right over the rear axle, to put the rear bias at 56.5%. I'd say it might be a handle at speed or in windy conditions.
Also...
I just replaced my camshaft. I ordered the camshaft kit from AllMoparParts.com on 7/9/25 and the parts were on my stoop on 7/17/25, after being quoted a ship date of August 15th. YMMV.
Since it's torn apart, I would have them replace the lash adjusters for the exhaust. Those parts aren't in a...
I just saw the headliner in JCR Offroad's jeep (looking at the rear window molle panel). Now I wants it. Even though I have the headliner option already. This one looks better, imo.
