I hear ya on the needing the bed space. I have seen some overland racks that has the option of mounting the spare under the top cross bars, but that's not an option for me personally.
I have three of the Harbor Freight boxes that has recovery stuff, compressor, air down/up hoses, bottle jack...
I got the Y-Strap off off Amazon and just used a stainless steel tie down from a Farm Supply store. It's rated for 1200lbs, so it should be good. I tried to get one as slim as possible and mounted it in the lower ribs of the bed, so if I haul something flat, it shouldn't stick up too much. I was...
We stayed on the blue (intermediate) trails this trip. My brother is in a pretty stock 2-door JLR on 35's. He didn't want to run anything harder.
Here's the list from what I can recall: Sidewinder, Salt Fork Creek (1 & 2), Middle Earth, Lonesome Dove, Back 40, and VR4. We hit up the Playground...
I'm 3/3 on the MC pucks as well on my 38's with the same dimensions on the wheel.
I've seen some inner liners that relocate that tank, but I can't remember what brand they were.
My plans are to chop the front fenders and hopefully go back to only 2 pucks on the front. Then run a high clearance...
Thank ya. I'm still on the fence on whether I want to chop the fronts, or replace them.
I went with a -12mm offset on KMC beadlocks. I wonder if that is why you can run less bumpstop (along with the fender mods).
Nice setup!
Are you running the Motobilt front fender support? I like their fender supports, but the old man in me says that little LED may be an issue in bright daylight.
What's the offset or backspacing in your rims?
Hmmm...interesting. I'll have to get with them, as they are the links that came with their 3.5" GameChanger kit.
I would think since the suspension setup has just a few inches of compression travel, but with a lot of droop, you'd want the sway bar link long enough to keep it from over-centering...
I installed some of the MetalCloak inner fenders and the swaybar link bolt catches on the curved opening at full compression. I emailed MetalCloak and they suggested that I position the inner fender farther forward. The only way this could happen would be if I removed it and slotted the mount...
I removed the lawyer bracket on the passenger side and installed some MetalCloak inner fenders. I think I'm still going to need to add a bump stop spacer to clear the 38's.
With the stock fender liner, I could clear 33" under the front tire, but the tire contacts the liner pretty good...
I'm not affiliated with Bestop at all, but I can say I wish I would have gotten my Sunrider sooner. It should have been my first upgrade as if the weather is right, mine's always open.
It's always good to have options and that looks like they fit in there very nicely.
I'm another Harbor Freight storage guy as well. I use one of the rifle cases for recovery items and the boxes/crates for my air compressor, bottle jack, and whatever else needs to come along for the trip. I use a...
My Jeep started life on a 3.5" MetalCloak Gamechanger lift, running 37x12.50 Ridge Grapplers on 17x9 rims with -12 offset. I recently swapped out to 38x13.50 Patagonia MT02's on some 17x9 beadlocks with -12 offset. As one would expect, I'll need to run a high-clearance inner fender liners and...
I went through this earlier this year as with arthritis in the knees makes it a challenge for sure. I had a Moab trip coming up and didn't have time to make a decision, so I just strapped in a folding step stool I had got at Harbor Freight years ago. It ended up being a good decision, as I used...
