Not my Gladiator but 05 Wrangler during the good weather a few weeks ago I drove over to a buddies house to help him out. I was there about 5 hours, and dark when I came home. Turn on light to get some stuff out to find one of my self propelled trip hazards and her kittens went along for the...
I understand the angles concerns especially now that I'm older too. My XJ I was of the f### it it's on its side. But shelf roads and sheer drop offs now are a major flag to me now. I'm someone who has been driving many years and miles. Along with driving a up armored suburban up the sides of...
Yeah there is or was quite a few companies making them. I had one made as a low cover for my Comanche in early 90's. When I was getting it done I wanted them to put hinges on the sides to open from the sides. I was looked at like I had horns growing out my head. So I did it myself.
Now back to...
Damn that was yeeted like a lawn dart.
I had a PSG 88M SFC Davis years ago, "strap it down like you are going to pick it up flip it over and shake the hell out of it, it better stay there." Think back to rail loading at Ft. Stewart... All b.s. aside now, I have by strapping around axle tubes...
Definitely not cheap and don't "cheap out on a half-ass one if you do. I "lucked in on mine" I sent emails to multiple companies trying to get information on them. No email back, then I decided to make phone calls, some didn't even answer or return calls. Multiple calls and to distributers I got...
That's funny, one of my buddies I was stationed with in Germany my first tour got out and became a WY State trooper, retired now.
Back on track...
So do you have a tentative plan on oil changes / services? You can do the "oil change in a box" sort of thing. On the way, no I'm not saying to...
Yeah I definitely know why. Destin it was ridiculously expensive.
Just picking up wood, hardware cloth to build a chicken run and coop. Nothing much else. Well I topped over 100,000 miles almost 101000 now. So time to drop skid plates change T-case and transmission fluid, axles and oil. But...
Most likely made by Filtran, a lot of parts are subcontracted out to other companies. Vehicle manufacturer sends out specific requirements for the product, subcontracted company builds it to meet the specs. Axles, tires, rims, a very long list of parts are subcontracted out. On filters look...
I almost got one of the anniversary edition ones, second hand. Still pissed on missing it. Upgraded to 10k and synthetic line. It was posted for sale with pictures, I saw them posted I'd buy it at listed price no haggling. It quickly got delisted. The person must have looked it up then pull...
I'm about to the point of if a winch needs replacement parts it's time for a replacement winch unless it's a Warn 8274 series. Other than replacing relay's, line or cables. Go figure my old Ramsey winch is still holding up always 30 years old, along with a Mile Marker short drum winch from 05.
In some cases it's cheaper than a towing a travel trailer. I was heading to Atlanta for a weekend planned to stay in travel trailer at campground a damn hotel was cheaper.
Really good points there, my Scamp has a 2" receiver hitch for just that mounting a bike rack, tied in to a...
Yeah, I had to order a set of replacement brushes for a certain brand of winch here in USA the only places that carried them was England (from Land Rover) and Australia that was stupidly high for them unless I wanted 25-50 sets. I don't recommend the Q-Tec winch after that.
Good luck with...
If I remember correctly the "Lube Locker" reusable gaskets list 14 lbs to torque to. I bought them for my Wrangler Unlimited in 05 or 06 I don't think I ever used a torque wrench with them. Just snug up fill if weeping give it little more. 20 years and going.
I got a email from POR they noticed I haven't checked in lately. It's had a lot of changes since I "almost got banned from it years ago"
So it was you.... I dropped off all the forums and net around mid 02 though 05 /06. Part was spending over a year in Iraq and some other stuff. But reading...
More likely a problem with FD or gas station personnel than PD. I had a FD guy trying to give me shit about filling fuel cans on my Jeep in the past. His logic was the metal fuel cans in a metal rack attached to metal bumper wasn't grounded... I was like the fuel tank. 🤔
I was a LEO there...
FYI by the way how is the windshield going on the JL? I thought I seen a post on the JL side about glass replacement and damaged to windshield frame. I thought it might be your wife's.
Kinda a load to deal with.
