My reason for wanting one is that its a 4x4 available with a manual transmission. Not a single full size gas truck has a stick anymore, only choices are a dodge 2500-3500 with a cummings which you're looking at 60k+, a Tacoma which was not fun to drive at all, the engine they put in the 2016+...
If you are trading in it doesnt matter at all and if you are selling private many people like my self seek out manual trans since they get more and more rare each year.
Manual trans since i dont plan to tow and its actually one of the huge selling points for me. Very slim pickings for a 4x4 pickup with a manual these days. I looked at Tacoms and Frontiers but have held out because of the Jeep. I only buy manuals because its all the should exist, accidents would...
Cranks are okay on a two door but not being able to roll the rear windows up and down while driving is annoying. It definitely would be nice if manufacturers actually allowed you to custom order options on a car like back in the 50s-70s. Nowadays you're stuck with trying to find a package that...
Those of you choosing a manual transmission what will you go with? All models except the Rubicon will be 3.73 and the Rubicon is 4.10. I personally don't need all the extra goodies that come with the Rubicon but having the 4.10 would be nice, its going to depend on how big the price gap is going...
I may wait until i can buy a topper before i buy the truck, only because the longer I go without a topper the longer my 2 dogs spend in the cab. I take them to the woods 3-4 times a week so being able to put them in the bed with a topper will be a huge help.
Totally agree but I would like it to look like the rear cap of a normal wrangler just obviously much longer. A rounded off truck cap would look wierd, id want it to maintain the square shape of a jeep.
Trust me I agree with you, i had a 2006 TDI before all the EPA garbage and I regularly saw 45mpg, and my highest was 51mpg. My point was that diesel engines now see less power and less mpg due to the EPA, the fact that VW even got in trouble was completely political and ridiculous. I would love...
Unfortunately now the only truck that has a full power down window is a tundra crewmax. I wasnt expecting that but figured being a jeep you could just remove the window.
Just curious how long you think will be until we see bed caps. Id love to have one that looks like an extended JL rear end, similar to how the 3 row jeep someone made looks.
I would love a 6sp with a diesel but to be honest even if they made one i wouldnt get it. I owned a diesel VW from 2006-2013 and it was awesome but after 2007 diesel engines took a turn for the worst due to the EPA, VW got in trouble for giving their customers more power and fuel efficiency at...
Damn, thanks for the replies guys. Thats my only disappointment as well since my plan was to keep my dogs in the bed of the truck with a cap but still be able to get some A/C back there in the summer time by having it pass completely through, would also have been nice for camping when sleeping...
Im wondering if anyone has seen any details on the rear window, its clear that its going to have a little slider similar to fords and obviously the whole rear section with the window included comes off but what about just removing the rear window? Im hoping to put a cap with a fold down front...
