For anyone that thinks this should be a recall - open a case on the NHTSA site. Even if you consider yours fixed by the new box open a case and include the fix.
FCA is going to be more likely to recall if the NHTSA is aware of the problem as asking them questions.
A recall could still be issued, but for now it's not. The more people that complain to NHTSA the more likely this becomes a recall. If you have to wait for the new parts or the dealer denies, go to the NHTSA and open an issue.
A TSB is just a supplement to previous repair instructions.
A recall...
I've been watching a discussion about this issue on a general Mopar forum. Of course there is the usual "You bought a Jeep, what did you expect" (to which I answer one that steers like my JK) but two "expert" non-Jeep owners say just keep adding caster until the issue goes away. I asked these...
And let me also point out that some states have laws that protect the dealer from lower reimbursements for warranty work. This can explain why some dealers are better than others for warranty work.
TSB work is covered by the warranty (if the vehicle is still under warranty). If the vehicle is out of warranty, the customer pays for TSB work.
The problem is some time back FCA put the squeeze on dealer reimbursements for warranty work. The dealer will get paid less for the same work done...
This is my 7th solid axle Jeep (and a few IFS ones). I think I know the limits of a solid axle vehicle. The quirks of the Gladiator steering (and mine is mild compared to others) are unique to JL and JT.
Yep, it's normal. It threw me off in my first 8 speed vehicle (a Dodge Durango) but I'm used to it now.
In fact it seems strange driving my JK Wrangler that doesn't have that feature now.
I bought my Jeep in April from a dealer in Ohio, though I am a resident of Pennsylvania. At the time Pennsylvania dealers and the registrars were closed. Eventually a Pennsylvania branch of the dealer was able to process the paperwork and I got my plate.
However, what is really odd is I have a...
The replacement of the old mechanical power steering pump with an electric power steering pump is a hybrid system (still uses fluid, unlike a pure electric system). The electric pump provides a better control over boost allowing different driving modes (I'd also bet it either is cheaper or...
Here is my experience with "Jeep Cares".Actually it was "Mopar Cares" on a different forum involving a Durango R/T I had at the time. They were useless and never replied. How I got my issue fixed? I contacted a reporter at a local TV station who did consumer reporting on automotive issues. He...
There are two types of electric power steering. This is the hybrid system. An electric pump is used, rather than mechanical pump, to circulate the power steering fluid.
The Sport has keyless unlock and keyess ignition but does not offer proximity keyless entry (where you lift the handle and it unlocks). Only Overland and Rubicon (maybe Mohave) offer this as an option.
I've used JScan on four vehicles and am very happy with it.
