  1. New JT Gladiator Steering Issue TSB 08-074-20 (for "Improved Steering Feel")

Many of the experienced Jeep engineers were probably busy designing the Bronco while this was happening. FCA was content letting experienced workers go and replacing them with cheaper new hires. Ford benefitted from this.
  2. Heater/defroster temperature control is TERRIBLE...anyone else have the same issue?

Mine seems to be OK as far as not switching between hot/cold airflow, but I have to set the temperature to 66º if I want the cabin to feel like 70º. Seems to work as designed other than the temperature calibration.
  3. New JT Gladiator Steering Issue TSB 08-074-20 (for "Improved Steering Feel")

So I called the dealer. They said it was inspected but not on the paperwork. Whether they really inspected or not, I am now on the waiting list. I am Ok with that. Mine is tolerable but tiring to drive. I am happy.
  4. New JT Gladiator Steering Issue TSB 08-074-20 (for "Improved Steering Feel")

The thing just won't track straight without constant corrections at highway speed. And the same road on different days doesn't always behave the same The thing that ticks me off to no end is I mentioned it three times!!!! I should not have to spend two hours driving there and back again (plus...
  5. New JT Gladiator Steering Issue TSB 08-074-20 (for "Improved Steering Feel")

I mentioned that to them 3 times (making oil change appointment, confirming appointment, dropping truck off) . But yet when I picked the truck up - nothing on the paperwork. I guess I'll have to call and complain. The sad part is the dealer is some distance away. and I wanted to get on the...
  6. New JT Gladiator Steering Issue TSB 08-074-20 (for "Improved Steering Feel")

Does your dealer make any kind of a note on your service paperwork that you are to get the TSB but parts are backordered? When I picked mine up after an oil change, I noticed the invoice has the oil change, the tire rotation, a software update (for the stop start misfire) and nothing about the...
  7. STOP Sale on all Manual Jeeps [Update: software flash fix arrives in March]

I hope so, but this same engineering facility also under-spec'd the clutch and steering boxes (probably because of unrealistic cost targets from FCA headquarters). I'm hoping Stellantis is better than FCA. FCA cut pennies to drive profits up and it costs them real dollars to fix the shortcomings.
  8. STOP Sale on all Manual Jeeps [Update: software flash fix arrives in March]

So my guess is the software "calculates" the clutch temperature on some programmed algorithm rather than a real temperature monitor since this is just a software fix and no sensor iinstall is part of the recall. I had a Fiat with the lovely DDCT (dual dry clutch transmission) that had a similar...
  9. STOP Sale on all Manual Jeeps [Update: software flash fix arrives in March]

Most likely they are waiting for regulatory agency approval of the new software. nothing more, before they can begin distribution of the new software
  10. Georgia

I'm in the North Georgia mountains, just outside Jasper (home of JeepFest https://www.sheriffsjeepfest.com/ ).
  11. New JT Gladiator Steering Issue TSB 08-074-20 (for "Improved Steering Feel")

So why is the parts procurement process so poor that Jeep Cares has to get involved and expedite parts?
  12. My G is tagged as commercial vehicle

I ended up with a passenger car tag instead of a truck tag on my Gladiator when I bought it in Pennsylvania. I'm now in Georgia where they don't differentiate between car and truck.
  13. New JT Gladiator Steering Issue TSB 08-074-20 (for "Improved Steering Feel")

Around town isn't the best place to compare new vs. old. Mine is pretty well behaved in town and below 45 mph. On the highway, it's a mixed bag. Well behaved one day, a real handful the next.
  14. Rubicon stock tires measurements?

A tire squats when loaded. If you had no load on it, it would be much closer to 33.
  15. Does any buddy run 265’s on their stock sport wheels?

I went to a 255-75-17 tire because I got a great deal on JK wheels with BFG KM2s. But I really want a better highway tire and am considering BFG KO2 in 265-70-17, plus I can get them with white letters which I'd prefer. On my 2013 JK, which was traded for the Gladiator, I ran 265-70-17...
  16. New JT Gladiator Steering Issue TSB 08-074-20 (for "Improved Steering Feel")

RRT-20-053 is a software reflash. I believe this is the misfire reflash, not the reflash for the steering issue (and definitely not a steering box replacement).
  17. New JT Gladiator Steering Issue TSB 08-074-20 (for "Improved Steering Feel")

The service visit might show, but the details may not. I had a car that had a clutch failure at 3200 miles (it was a Fiat DDCT where the clutch action was automated, not by the operator). It was a major repair and I convinced them to buy the car back. All the customer facing repair entry said...
  18. Electronic gremlins

I hate these issues because I can just about guarantee the dealer won't find anything. I've had three instances where the gas gauge has read 0. In each case there was less than 1/4 tank and after some time of driving the gas gauge finally registered some fuel. Two days ago, I start down the...
  19. New JT Gladiator Steering Issue TSB 08-074-20 (for "Improved Steering Feel")

FCA needs to make parts availability to service the vehicles they sell a priority, recall or not. Ask the people that waited a long time for the Takata air bag recall, the Ram pinion nut recall, the minivan power quarter window recall, etc. Even for recalls, FCA hasn't been great on supplying...
  20. New JT Gladiator Steering Issue TSB 08-074-20 (for "Improved Steering Feel")

Per the TSB, it's only an allowance for 1.9 hours of work (unless it's been revised upwards in later versions).
