Yep as Jaymax noted a Strap and Rope are two different items and both have there place. That looks like a strap for towing. Nothing wrong with having it, I carry one. You also want a kinetic rope.

No you do not need to keep the tool connected. Not sure on the service light that's weird. Remove the tool, let truck sit see if it resets. Did you have a tazer? Maybe check if the gear ratio is set corect.

I think in three years I’ve only had it happen four times maybe five at this point I’m 90% sure it’s one particular pump nozzle at one particular place if I was smart I would make note of where and which pump it was but I’m not that smart and it doesn’t happen that often :LOL:

I'm not a mechanic at all but the gears do not engage at the botom of the tooth. They engage at the face. I see nothing that shows an issue to me.

I tow with "heavy" tongue weight, bout 700, I added Sumo Springs. They work fabulous. Air bags are cool, but add complexity to the rear I didn't want to deal with. Heaver springs will help as well, I've got an AEV lift in, they are defiantly more beef than the stock max tow springs.
