Update - glass ordered in June received in July ended up being a back glass for a Ram pickup. So, they tried again. The third attempt at glass arrived in late August. Got the new glass installed this week.
The dealer had the glass company come to my house, so I could watch what happened...
Well documented issue on the '20 model. I added a small bracket with a plastic retainer to the aft side of the front tire and it significantly tightened up the inner liner. No more flopping around on mine, even with the thinner plastic. The bracket looks factory
Next windshield will be HGP if they have one for adaptive cruise by then. At the rate I've been going through windshields though, I don't know that they will be ready (on 3rd one in 13 months)
Hopefully PSC builds a whole new box as they did for the JK. I'm doing fine with the replacement box, but if it acts up, I'll look to the aftermarket to resolve it.
That looks easy to fix if you have access to a welder. Remove the cover, grind the bung weld at the top and make another pass. Should be sealed up after a good pass
I found the water on the trim above the rear window.
My service manager says there was an issue sealing the original windows. I think he told me that it uses a gasket with a seam in the middle. Anyways, they ordered a new window for mine. It took 2 months or so to come in; was this week...
Went to dealer, but the new glass had a chip in it. When they went to order another piece of glass, we found out that there is a new part number - an improved window. They expect it on 9 Jul. I'll see if I can get the part number to add to this thread once it comes in and I get to see it.
HF Daytona jacks are a copy of the snapon brand. There is a high reach version that is especially good for us with Gladiators. Rumors are that HF production of the daytona jacks has been impacted by the supply chain problems and that they will sell out soon. Recommend you buy one immediately...
The best indication of frame damage is to look for uneven seams between panels/doors.
The frame is one piece (welded). Alignment after repair will be the best indicator of how straight the repair made the frame.
Would be interested in how they determined this (gear lube/transfer case needed changing). Going soley on miles is not accurate. Going to somewhere like Blackstone labs would be credible
Yes, rake will affect caster. With any caster change, it will affect steering, mostly "return to center," but low caster numbers can also cause wander.
I've had 2 windshield replacements. I was doubtful that the recalibration of the ACC was necessary, so on the second replacement I asked about it and watched as the technician did the calibration.
The tablet did make some minor changes on the second windshield change (I didn't watch the...
I think you're confused. "Drivers" side is the right side, by his definition of a "right hand drive".
When you say I'm wrong, that the FAD is on the passenger side...isn't that what I wrote? The passenger side of a right hand drive model is the left side.
