I did both several times when I was stock. AOAA is very tight in spots but you usually can go a green route if the blue is too much and come back to the group. I was usually more concerned about bashing into a tree than the under carriage.
Happy New Year!!! JTRSPARTACUS got some gifts for Christmas ? . Gotta find some to install. Better lighting has been on the list for a while - especially backup. My stock inner fenders are all torn up so metal Ace ones will be a big improvement

The stock clutch is too weak and the flywheel is too light. Would have loved closer gear spacing but the Centerforce clutch and hydraulics is a huge improvement. 5.13 gears (37” tires) helps a lot too.
The only con Ive noticed is increased pedal effort. I forgot how soft the old clutch pedal was until I recently drove a manual JL Wrangler.
In theory I guess there is a minor gas mileage hit (more spinning mass in the flywheel) but I haven’t noticed.
I guess there is a bit more load on the...
I think it ended up about $2,300 installed. I got an early production model without the hydraulics and later got the upgraded hydraulics that now comes with the kit so that added a little extra shop time/cost and an extra trip. Good luck ! You won’t be disappointed.
I love it. Best mod ever! I tow and off road and it’s so much better !! I got caught in bumper to bumper traffic for 15 minutes on a steep hill after a baseball game and it performed perfectly. Backing a trailer (not riding the clutch) used to smoke the stock clutch - no issues now. It was...

now with 2” plus Rusty’s Lift, Ace bumper and rock rails, warn Zeon winch, 37” Mickey Thompson Tires, 5.13 Yukon gears, Centerforce Dual Friction clutch, Bestop Supertop for Truck, Bestop Element doors, Tazer mini, Tazer front...
Agree. The smell of burnt clutch when backing a 2800 lb atv trailer in a flat yard (not riding the clutch at all) was the clearest sign that the stock clutch wasn’t designed for my use. FWIW my $0.02 … keep the change….YMMV
Quote sounds on the higher end of the price spectrum. I was at about $3,100 for clutch, hydraulics (I got mine separately- early production model) and Yukon 5.13 gears ⚙️ installed. I have a shop - Keystone 4x4 that works with me on installing parts I purchase and a great supplier - Bad...
The clutch feel and performance is way better. The biggest difference is that u can back a trailer up without smelling the clutch. The factory clutch would smoke/smell when backing - not riding the clutch. I can go from a stoplight or back up with no /minimal throttle. It also crawls offroad so...
Yeah - Maintenance is getting it clean, spray detailer and dry in the shade. Mine lives outside and I have a habit of off-roading and leaving the mud, coal dust (Pennsylvania )etc on it for too long or I clean it and take it off road the next day. The ceramic coat definitely made it easier the...
Welcome to the Black Gladiator obsession OlllllllO!!!!!
I had mine professionally paint corrected and ceramic coated. It helped for a long time but it does require maintenance and I let it slide this summer after wheeling and traveling 5,600 across the US. I need to go back and get it cleaned...
