I've read around the interwebs that just simply covering the large areas is enough to make a difference. Don't go crazy with covering every square inch and cutting shapes that look like Florida just to cover that little sliver of exposed floor pan.
The WeatherTech flaps are a lot wider than the MOPAR branded flaps that I had previously. Before my RockSlide Engineering motorized side steps, I had the OEM plastic side steps that were way wider. So a combo of WeatherTech Flaps and OEM side steps is ideal.
