I've had jeeps in PA for 30 years and always run steel bumpers. My jeeps get winter prepped, then spring clean up to keep rust away. POR15 on my older jeeps' frames and bumpers.
I'm a firm believer in if you take care of your equipment, your equipment will take care of you.
My JT Rubicon (gas) just passed 1100 miles and I noticed a change in the brake pedal feel as described here. Mine was built 4-2021.
Today was 80 degrees, and I was running the A/C a lot on the highway for the 1st time since buying it. It seems much different and the pedal practically goes to...
On my other jeeps, I've used an ARB Bullbar, but on the JT, I thought the Mopar steel bumper looked the best.
IMO most of the other aftermarket bumpers just don't look right, they stick out oddly or fit the lines poorly.
As I was drinking a nice cold beer while sitting my 230 lb butt on the tailgate (during a grass cutting break) it occurred to me that I don't know what the weight limit is on the tailgate. Anybody know???
Wow, sorry to see this. My wife had her favorite built XJ totaled by a woman blowing through a stop too. It sucks!!!
Here's a video from Hoovies Garage about his Gladiator getting totaled by the insurance company over a busted front axle.
"What kind of complete wuss needs a heated steering wheel and heated seats in a jeep" I used to say...well, now that would be me!
Those accessories have become my favorite features that I would never have ordered from the factory, but came with my current JTR and I would have to have again...
My wife laughed at the wave I got the other day from another Gladiator driver, she said "that was a Harley wave not a Jeep wave..."
Most people wave around the Lehigh Valley area of PA where I'm at. You'll occasionally come across a guy who's too cool to wave, like this bunghole with an...
Have you rotated your tires yet? I usually rotate my tires around 6,000 miles depending on the brand and driving I'm doing. Tires could be wearing funny and causing the issue you feel as well.
Thank you for your thorough response. I'm glad to see a company that is actively on the forum that means a lot too! The aluminum vs steel factor is something that I didn't consider before and piques my interest. I can live with stainless fasteners and even the lights being covered if it means...
That's exactly what I'm planning as well! My really old and trusty HiLift, plus a 3 gallon rotopax, a set of maxtrax boards, and maybe a shovel too. That DB is extremely nice but I may have to go with something a little less expensive. ?
I agree on keeping the bed lights open too. It looks like you have a tonneau cover on there as well. That is another reason that I want to keep it all in the bed vs a true overland rack. 5 years from now, I may go that route, but this is my DD currently and mostly used to go fishing locally for...
